September 18, 201610 yr Johnson was the man I wanted as soon as they signed him. He brings an element to the position UK hasn't had in a long time. Once he settled down he looked good out there. He definitely does a better job on the read option, plus his decision making was very good today. I would expect him to be the starter for the next game anyway.
September 18, 201610 yr Agreed on Johnson deserves to start next game even if Barker is healthy. Keep in mind though as we saw with UK last year it's hard for teams to stop a mobile backup qb that they haven't prepared for. The next big step will be to see how he performs when teams know he is starting and prepare for him. Just 2 weeks ago people were saying the same things about Barker after the 1st half against Southern Miss. This was one of the 3 games people had penciled in as an easy win before the year. So hopefully he keeps this up though because he was impressive today.

Just to answer your question about the lack of support for Barker. IMO I thought he was overrated coming out of highschool and wasn't even the best QB in NKY. I personally thought Brenan Kuntz was much better, but this is not the time nor place for that arguement

He obviously doesn't have total support in the locker room or Snell wouldn't have been lobbying for Johnson to start next week like he did.
