Well right now according to KHSAA Jarod Lonaker is ranked 4th in the state and Tanner Morgan is ranked 14th.

 

Lonaker on that site has less

pass attempts thru 3 games than Morgan but 200 more yards and almost twice as many TD's than Morgan.

IMO no one in the state is better than Jamale Carothers. I'm not sure if he will win or not but if he plays to his potential he should. Not only the best running back but the best football player, Trajon is great and one of my absolute favorite HS players.....But Jamale just stands out

Most QBs that lead their team to blowout wins don't play anything near every snap of every game. The whole "cumulative stats thing" can be deceiving.

If Bright is out an extended time though his chances dramatically drop.

 

He needed every eye popping stat he could get at the end of the year playing for a small school and without the D-1 attention.

I would put Cole Bentley in the conversation as best all-around football player.

 

He has been absolutely dominant on each side of the ball so far. Each week he is making some type of "wow" highlight. Against Harlan County he took out 3 defenders with a single block on a TD run and last week against NewCath he had one of the most brutal hits I have seen this year when he nearly decapitated the Breds' fullback after pushing the OLinemen 3 yards in the backfield.

 

With that said, it is hard for someone to contend for this award who plays in the trenches so I am not sure i would put him with the front runners.

Not taking away from any of the 3 (Carothers, Hendrix, Bentley), but they are 3 completely different type players. And Mr Football is more of a popularity contest historically for QBs and RBs (Since 86, only 1 TE, 3 LB, 1 DL and 3 WR have won Mr. Football outside of the QB/RB spot - that's 27% of the time).
