Kent Phelps (Paintsville) RB 11TD's. Just shy of 600yds in 2016 in only 4 games of which he has played less than 3 qt's of football in 3 of the 4 games! Pretty solid!

Team success should be a major factor in the award! Does Kash Daniel winning the award from Paintsville last year, eliminate any shot that Kent Phelps could win the award, IF Paintsville were to make a run? Kent Phelps is a special player and a high character kid!

I was asking a question in response to your statement that Coopers QB is better than Ryles QB. Having seen both of them play it is not even close.

You do realize offers does not garuntee the better qb don't you? Most offers come with zero thought about what goes on Friday nights. HHS qb last year is perfect example of that. Already had DI offer before even taking a varsity snap as starting qb. Many DI players are getting attention long before even starting a varsity game. Camps have more to do with recruiting than anything else. If a player doesn't put himself out there then he will get very little attention.

Actually the numbers are the thing that certainly lies. When a team is winning by a large margin they either put in the twos or quit throwing the ball to burn up the clock.

So you are saying that more pass attempts but less yards and about half the number of TD's means the qb with the worse stats means he is better. Got it! Lol

Not once did I say Tanner Morgan won't finish the season on top. I simply said at this point of the season Lonaker is having a better season so far. Hey in the end Morgan wins, he is getting a full ride and a free college education. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Personally I don't care who offered. Lonaker may have been offered by 15 DI programs for all we know. Either way neither has any leverage in what we are talking about. Lonaker so far this season has the better numbers is all. Doesn't mean Tanner won't finish the season as the best qb that ever played in KY high school football history.

Good point! If Paintsville makes a deep run at a State title where would that put Phelps? With just having a solid season record and Phelps continuing to put up big numbers, would certainly be enough to earn him a spot for strong consideration, HOWEVER, if they make a Deep run, such as a state title (which Paintsville did not obtain last year) one would think it should solidify him at one of the very top couple considered! Just not sure if it hurts Phelps having KY Mr. Football come from the same High school the previous year!

100 percent accurate. Ryle put a running clock on Highlands in the 2nd quarter last week. Scored 43 points in the first half. Finished the game with 50 points. Morgan had 250 yds on 16 of 18 passing, 2 TDs. If Ryle would have kept passing the stats would have been much different. What I like about Cooper is that they never know who will run at QB until that year. Nathan Brown last year lit it up. Lonaker seems to be following in his footsteps. I'm a Ryle guy, but one with much respect for the other team in Union. Much Respect.
