Raceland is a heck of a football team, they put a quality product on the field every single fall! I think the Paintsville D is as good as any in the state! Just out of curiosity, if you took away 3 big pass plays for Raceland what is the final score of this game? Paintsville let off the gas late, if they put 4 quarters together, they can play for a title!

Paintsville had 7 total penalties vs Raceland's 12, they called pass interference and holding when it should have been called. Raceland was down 32-0, Paintsville was 1/5 on 2pt conversions, in other words this should have been a running clock game... I am not sure how you say officiating is the difference in that scenario, considering the total penalties.

Paintsville had 12 penalties to Raceland's 7, not a valid argument... This game was a good rivalry game, the gloves were off! Both teams were equally guilty at times! Paintsville was 1/5 on 2 Pt conversions(Kicker was out with injury). Should have been a running clock game, Paintsville let off the gas! Raceland's offense was 3 big pass plays, otherwise they had nothing vs a legit Paintsville defense! IF Paintsville learns to put 4 quarters together and clean up the stupid penalties, they could play in Lexington!

Dalton Daniels is Phelps replacement as of right now, and the QB position is in the hands of freshman Jake Hyden. Tyrese will also carry the ball. Other playmakers to look out for is the brother duo of Chris and James Allen at WR. 18 starters returning from last years 13-1 team.

Paintsville has a $1.8 million gym renovation planned for this school year. $100k or whatever was spent on the football locker room should be insignificant in terms of Title IX as in comparison to 1.8 million. The softball field and football field are both adjacent and off campus, softball uses football concessions, they use the football locker room for ice, and also practice on the football field during bad weather early in spring. I would think the admin at Paintsville would have no problems here in terms of Title IX. Paintsville has one of the oldest continuously used grass facilities with an old school crown. It is one of the best places to watch a game in the state imo, because there is no track around the grass field. Seems a few have ruffled feathers over a $100k locker room, yet their team plays on a $750k turf field? Excellent job here by Joe Chirico, the community of Paintsville, and their alumni!

I feel like Paintsville has played the tougher schedule. Correct me if I am wrong, but Paintsville beat 3 teams who will win their district, Pikeville, Williamsburg, and Bourbon Co. Raceland is as tough a place to play as anywhere in the state. I think Paintsville's schedule has prepared them more so for this physical matchup. Come on Friday night!!!

The kid from Williamsburg is a player! On a side note, I think Kent Phelps has only played 4 qtrs in 1 game vs Pikeville this season. He has been pulled at or before the half in every game, I love that Chirico gets his guys out early! Phelps also did not play vs Bourbon Co.

According to Paintsville's stats on KHSAA, Phelps has 16 TDs (not 14 TDs as stated above) and a 2pt conversion.

Looks like both teams wore national guard jerseys, military appreciation game. Fairview had 5 or 6 out, mostly lineman.

Phelps with a huge first half, 12 carries 176 yds 4 TDs and a 2pt conversion to run the clock! Aside from the first offensive drive, Paintsville looked sharp on both sides of the ball! Can Paintsville's schedule get a little respect? As another poster said these contracts signed 2 years ago! Raceland fans tend to ignore the fact that both Bourbon Co and Pike Central would beat Portsmouth West or Lucasville Valley!

Both teams stood over the ball in the 4th letting the clock roll in the rain, probably want their team healthy next week for districts? Chirico gives his starters until a running clock, and then they come out. The fact that you have to go for 2 to secure a running clock at 36, that is the ignorant portion of the rule. If I were in charge of the clock, its raining, 90% of people left, both teams standing over the ball, then im using common sense and running it until they tell me to stop it! Everybody in the facility just wanted the game over in the 4th but the clock operator!

Running clock at the half, Paintsville always yanks Spencer and Phelps first to ice. Both have had shoulder problems in the past, so both get seem to get the hook early.

Team success should be a major factor in the award! Does Kash Daniel winning the award from Paintsville last year, eliminate any shot that Kent Phelps could win the award, IF Paintsville were to make a run? Kent Phelps is a special player and a high character kid!

Kent Phelps also had a 75 yd TD called back for a block 10 yds behind the ball. Paintsville fumbled the ball in to the endzone and could have made the game 47-14. Pikeville will no doubt continue to grow and improve! The run game through the Charles kid in the 4th qtr was solid!
