FINAL

Tale of 2 halves in this one. Raceland was one score away from going down on a running clock and stormed back with 3 unanswered TD's to try a comeback.

Paintsville was up 26-0 at the half, scored early in 3rd qtr to go to 32-0. Then, instead of folding, Pride kicked in and Raceland scored 3 td's, turned it over on downs when it was goal to go. Paintsville closed the game out for the W,

Rams dominted the 2nd half. Tigers dominated the first.

Congrats to the Tigers on the win and hopefully, if we both win out we will be back here in mid / late Nov..

I have never come on here and said anything about officiating but the way this game was called was ridiculous. With this crew it would be next to impossible for anyone to go in there and win. Paintsville is very good! Paintsville plus that officiating crew would never lose a game.

Paintsville had 12 penalties to Raceland's 7, not a valid argument... This game was a good rivalry game, the gloves were off! Both teams were equally guilty at times! Paintsville was 1/5 on 2 Pt conversions(Kicker was out with injury). Should have been a running clock game, Paintsville let off the gas! Raceland's offense was 3 big pass plays, otherwise they had nothing vs a legit Paintsville defense! IF Paintsville learns to put 4 quarters together and clean up the stupid penalties, they could play in Lexington!

The type of penalties and the timing made a huge difference! Paintsville had an offside on kick return, false start in victory formation, I think one holding which was ridiculous for the amount that was actually going on. Two fouls on Paintsville on an onside kick that offset each other somehow. Two pass interference that the referees had no choice but to call. If you honestly believe this game was called evenly you are to biased to argue with about it. I am not a referee basher. They have a tough job and I respect them for doing it. Tonight was possibly the worst I have ever seen.

The two pass interference calls were smart plays by the defenders. They were beat so they interfered to stop TD's. 15 yard penalties instead of 6 points. Like the rule or not they were heads up plays that prevented points.

Paintsville is on a completely different level than Raceland. I honestly don't believe the talent level is that much different, I think it all comes down to coaching and Chirico is on an entirely different level than Salmons.

Paintsville had 7 total penalties vs Raceland's 12, they called pass interference and holding when it should have been called. Raceland was down 32-0, Paintsville was 1/5 on 2pt conversions, in other words this should have been a running clock game... I am not sure how you say officiating is the difference in that scenario, considering the total penalties.

Please don't get mad Rams folks, but why does it seem like Raceland can never win a big game?

I wasn't there to say but I do know at one time, at the half, the penalty yards difference was ... Raceland had 75 yds, Paintsville 20. That's a big gap. I will also tell you that at no time did our / wlgc radio crew make any type of "bad officiating" call, claim or did they ever hint at that. All they said about that aspect was a couple of times comments were that the game was getting "chippy".

 

As bad as we / Raceland played in the 1st half, especially getting whipped badly on the line play .....to me, that was the story. But, you were there and I wasn't.

One example is the music playing between every snap while the play clock is running and we can't get our plays called.

No play was run last week during the music and the officials blowed the whistle and restarted plays after music was stopped.

We don't huddle and call our plays in from the sideline. We were on the white hat all night about the music playing.
