Well he's managed to bring one million black men to Washington DC on two different occasions with no damage to DC so he must be doing something right.

 

You're right, behind his racist, antisemitic, homophobic rhetoric he is a great crowd organizer and advocate for unity.

So how would you tell black people to protest against their perceived social injustices? What kind of protesting would you like to see black people do against perceived social injustices?

I'm not sure PP -- maybe an organized social media campaign ? Maybe CK could have went against NFL policy and highlighted a case ( there are plenty to choose from) where the cops screwed it up by writing something on his Uni , or he has quite a big name - call a press conference ? Marching is fine by me as well . My point was just because he was peaceful doesnt mean he didn't offend a ton of patriotic Americans who have never slighted or oppressed anyone .

That the problems we see and have today are all sin problems and if we all did our best to follow the teachings of Jesus that we wouldn't have all the problems that derive from hate that we have today. To me its all that simple.

Jesus's commandments are pretty simple.

Give it time...........places that we are accustomed to hearing our national anthem, will stop playing the national anthem, little by little, to appease the ever growing "offended" class in this country.

Guys and gals, we can't keep pretending the flag or the anthem is at the center of this issue and expect to make any progress.

What does his position have to do with anything?? Does being a backup QB for a mediocre NFL team invalidate him from making and participating in social commentary?? Are you saying that only persons of certain professions be allowed to engage in peaceful protest of a real social issue (or any issue for that matter)? Many people criticize athletes and entertainers for NOT taking advantage of their status to speak out on issues. And if highly visible, well known people shouldn't do, who should??

Why are we talking about him? You questioned whether there could be a large , peaceful gathering in DC. It has happened. Let's not change the debate here.

Making the flag/anthem part of the issue is pure deflection, and an easy way to avoid talking about the real issue.

No one involved in this protest has ever said they were offended by the Anthem, or that the Anthem was the problem, nor have they discussed or asked that the Anthem not be played. And besides sporting events, where else do we regularly hear the Anthem played, or where else do we think the Anthem should be played and isn't??

 

And again, the Anthem isn't the issue.
