It doesn't matter. This will be a repeat of last year where a couple HHS fans will argue about who should be playing where and the coaches don't know what they are doing etc etc.

 

this thread will have a good 20 pages before next weeks game about who should be playing on the line and if the freshman team has players they should call up etc.

 

Its never the fact that HHS just doesn't have the talent to beat these teams in NKY, it's always because of injuries or players playing out of position or coaches don't know what they are doing.

 

Now its its not all the HHS fans, but a couple will continue to try and convince the rest of BGP that HHS has the talent to win it all this season if only the coach would ...fill in the blank.

 

Has nothing to do with the players on the current team does it? It must be because of coaching.

If there's a contest on BluegrassPreps for a school whose fans manage to bring their program up in completely unrelated threads, I'm pretty sure Highlands is winning that competition in spades.

Knock off the personal attacks and keep the discussion to football.

You are correct. The area programs have gotten a lot better. And it may be that the days of Highlands dominating NKY are over. But one thing Highlands fans know is football and what it takes to win. The current talent and depth at Highlands right now is not what it was during "The Run". Those much more knowledgeable than me have stated that on here. But now it's an "excuse" instead of just being the state of the program.

 

But you are correct, teams like SK and Ryle are much better than they were in the past.

I can agree with most of what you said,, and I don't have a dog in the fight,, but I don't think you can say that Cooper ran from HHS if they are playing them the first game of the year. I think you would have much more of a case if they continued to not play them at all.

Now in the past Highlands had a bundle of very talented players and it's simply this year I believe they don't have that talent they have grown accustomed to. I think that has more to do with it than coaching. My understanding the coaches that are there now have been there for awhile even during the title years.

Doesn't ruin anything. Fact is the most of their titles in that streak came from a weak 4A

 

I may be mistaken and it so please correct this but even when highlands was playing 4 A ball they were either playing in the division they were supposed to be in or playing up one?

A few have, albeit in different roles.

But wait a minute!!! All of Highlands players live in their district right? How could that be that they would accept players out of district??

 

How do you know they weren't moving to the district. You like to make a lot of broad assumptions. And He didn't come did he?
