I understand that it must be frustrating knowing that even a down Highlands team generates more interest, and is more relevant than Cooper, but thats what happens when your program dominates entire decades. String a few winning seasons together, then maybe we can talk. Fill your trophy case with something more meaningful than district championship (which I didn't even know they gave trophies for when I played) and then Cooper might be allowed to sit at the table. Until then, Cooper is stuck sitting in the backseat of Highlands car, they might even be in the trunk.

Once again HHS was in 5A in 2007, 2008 and 2009 all State Championship winning years.

I couldn't remember what years they were in 5A, only because I really didn't give a crap about HHS but only became interested when I joined BGP and heard the arrogance that was HHS fans about how everyone was afraid to play them etc. Now that they can't use that myth anymore they have been knocked back down to earth.

 

Now with that said, I will say I am very impressed with their resume and their history. What I'm not impressed with is the arrogance some, and I repeat...SOME of their fans have always had on here.

Yea, your great dominating team for decades got beat the first time they ever played a brand new public school that doesn't recruit in only their 8th year of existence. Yep, that sucks.

 

Want to know something that really surpised me about Highlands last year when they came to Cooper in the first game of the season?

 

How poor their fanbase is. I couldn't believe how few fans for such a great dynasty had. The visitor stands at that game were more than half empty. Actually it was the poorest showing of any Cooper home game all year by the visiting fans. So one thing I am very proud of when it comes to Cooper Football is our fans are real and they travelk great. In 2012 when they went to the state title game, every road playoff game (and every game Cooper was on the road) the Cooper fans outnumbered the home team fans in every game except the title game against BG. It was pretty impressivbe and what struck me odd about Highlands.

 

Actually when Lexington teams came to play Cooper last year they had more fans in the stands than Highlands who is a local team and going to the first game of a state championship team. I still can't get over how poor of a following Highlands had.

I'm sure I will get blasted but you all can thank Dale for this. All the years he was putting it on teams from NKY and now NKY teams are getting their shot to do the same thing to them, coaches don't forget. HHS is going to be talented in the upcoming years but I am not to sure they are going to make the run they been use to, yes they will have a year where they are good but not consecutively as in years past. You can't embarrass teams from your same area year in and year out for that long not to have it done to you when the chance comes. I fell for the current players and coaches, I guess Dale knew when to get out. Just my opinion.

Yep, teams came calling when they saw a kink in the armor and said we better play them now because we won't want to play them after the talent lull is over. Cooper and Simon Kenton being two prime examples of getting Highlands while they're down. Fact, not fiction, not made up. Fact

Ok that may be true, but for you to say that once they entered 5A they had their butts handed to them is simply not true. Fortunately for Cooper they didn't have a chance to play HHS during the stretch of championships.

But Cooper did play them during their streak. They were the first team to play highlands after their Championship in 2014. It wasn't like Cooper avoided Highlands like some have said (you weren't one of them btw)

It is equally enjoyable, from a Highlands fan perspective, to watch other teams fans, who so desperately yearn to be relevant, bask in glory after a Highlands loss.

It's funny how many still had HHS ranked #1 pre season last year. Keep acting as if everyone knew Highlands would be this bad. Other teams don't keep track of who will be playing for each team especially when they aren't even in their districts. No one outside of Highlands had any idea they wold be that bad coming off another state championship. Even many of your own fans still touted them as making it to BG last year and that was even after the first 5 games. So don't act like all the coaches got together and said, hey lets play Highlands now because they stink. Get a clue.

I've gone back and read the entire thread. I can't find ONE known Highlands fan/dad that's complained about running up the score. Not one that gave excuses why we lost. It's funny how when a Highlands fan states a fact (we were without 3 OL) it instantly becomes and excuse. I saw many state their opinion on why we lost and the state of the program, but people like @Hellbird and @Fear the Nation and @plantmanky just want to come in takes potshots.

Enjoy your success at Ryle and spend less time and energy twisting things that no one from the opposing school said in the first place. Your posts come across as hatred towards Highlands posters and the school.

 

I challenge any of the three I named to go back through the thread and bring the full quote of their post forward showing where they complained about running up the score or gave an excuse(not a fact about the team/school) why Highlands lost?

Talk about fans that turn people off of programs. Two very good examples on BGP, one for SK and one for Cooper.

 

I guess I'll take that moniker for Highlands in the football forum. Someone has to and I can't think of anyone else that really calls out other posters. But I never blast on other programs like the other two mentioned above. Well, there's @RCC, but he's, well, he's RCC.
