I'm sure I will get blasted but you all can thank Dale for this. All the years he was putting it on teams from NKY and now NKY teams are getting their shot to do the same thing to them, coaches don't forget. HHS is going to be talented in the upcoming years but I am not to sure they are going to make the run they been use to, yes they will have a year where they are good but not consecutively as in years past. You can't embarrass teams from your same area year in and year out for that long not to have it done to you when the chance comes. I fell for the current players and coaches, I guess Dale knew when to get out. Just my opinion.

 

This, times a thousand. Coach Mueller planted some deep seeded resentment in more football players and fans than anyone can tally on account of the beat-downs he and his Bluebirds handed teams. If anyone wants to claim that he never ran up the score I suggest that you look back at the KHSAA scoreboard from years past. Here, check out the first season they have listed:

I guess I'll take that moniker for Highlands in the football forum. Someone has to and I can't think of anyone else that really calls out other posters. But I never blast on other programs like the other two mentioned above. Well, there's @RCC, but he's, well, he's RCC.

 

Big difference, I don't talk trash about other programs like you have done. I actually talked about how impressed I have been with Highlands history. What I did do however is defend myself when you claim things I've said that I didn't say. I never once even mentioned Ryle ran the score up on you all, I was talking about what had happened in the past and you claim I said Ryle ran the score up on you Friday night. So try and get your facts straight before you toss others under the bus because you are butt hurt.

It's funny how many still had HHS ranked #1 pre season last year. Keep acting as if everyone knew Highlands would be this bad. Other teams don't keep track of who will be playing for each team especially when they aren't even in their districts. No one outside of Highlands had any idea they wold be that bad coming off another state championship. Even many of your own fans still touted them as making it to BG last year and that was even after the first 5 games. So don't act like all the coaches got together and said, hey lets play Highlands now because they stink. Get a clue.

 

I'm just glad Highlands stopped ducking NKY teams.

 

Go back and look at those threads, those close to the program stated that ranking and championship expectations were from other coaches and media. You need to get a clue and actually comprehend what you read.

 

It's about time the other NKY coaches stepped up to play Highlands. Playing Highlands will only help you down the road.

Big difference between you and RCC, I like RCC because of his passion and his passion is everything Highlands. He very rarely puts down other programs like you do. He just sticks up for his own. We may disagree a lot but I still respect him and his defense of his school. He doesn't call out others and lie about things they have said. Big difference. You could learn something from him. You still have not shown a post that either I made or even plant made saying Ryle ran the score up or it was designed. All my post about running the score up were simply about what happened in the past and what I my definition of it was and I also said I cold care less if teams do run the score up. Yep, teams came calling when they saw a kink in the armor and said we better play them now because we won't want to play them after the talent lull is over. Cooper and Simon Kenton being two prime examples of getting Highlands while they're down. Fact, not fiction, not made up. Fact

 

I guess the thing that sticks out to me and what I keep seeing posted is the apparent disregard for the growth of programs in this area over the last few years. Just because HHS is getting beat does not mean that they are down,, it could very well mean the other programs have grown.

 

I remember a several years ago when HHS played Ryle when Coach Warner was there and the Raiders won. The same sentiment was that the Raiders got lucky. True the program in Ft. Thomas is rich in history, no one can take that away from them. However, to dismiss the growth and skill development of other programs as HHS having "down years" is incredibly insulting.

 

This is just my opinion but I like to see the level playing field. You never know week to week who is going to come out on top. The kids go out on Friday night and play their hearts out. I would rather celebrate their win, than to belittle it by saying the other team lost because they were (down)

I've gone back and read the entire thread. I can't find ONE known Highlands fan/dad that's complained about running up the score. Not one that gave excuses why we lost. It's funny how when a Highlands fan states a fact (we were without 3 OL) it instantly becomes and excuse. I saw many state their opinion on why we lost and the state of the program, but people like @Hellbird and @Fear the Nationand @plantmanky just want to come in takes potshots.

You are correct. The area programs have gotten a lot better. And it may be that the days of Highlands dominating NKY are over. But one thing Highlands fans know is football and what it takes to win. The current talent and depth at Highlands right now is not what it was during "The Run". Those much more knowledgeable than me have stated that on here. But now it's an "excuse" instead of just being the state of the program.
