August 30, 201610 yr I'll agree, probably a bit of a stretch. I meant that with a little tongue-in-cheek to it. Guess I should have found an emoji for that. Fair enough - it had seemed a little harsh.
August 30, 201610 yr Maybe the fearful kid should learn how to defend himself. Do you know about the situation? Based upon your response I am guessing that you do not.

August 30, 201610 yr I guess you missed my post specifying that I meant that as tongue-in-cheek. Yes I did. Saw it after I posted. It is a very sad situation if you ask me. Not sure where the parents of the assaulter are, but they need a good talking to as well along with copies of the medical bills. 4th degree assault is rather weak IMO. As far as the kid carrying the weapon, it is my understanding that he is at home now. Not sure where things go from here as far as legal proceedings and what may occur at school. Sad situation and from all accounts a youth that definitely needs help before it is too late.
August 30, 201610 yr You're trying really hard to make some content here, as is the case with almost all of your posts in this thread. Trying to boost the site hits by fabricating some sort of deeper scandal being covered up? Seriously, you have stated that you don't think the school will be truthful. So no matter what they say, unless it fits your preconceived narrative, you will say is untrue and the "insiders" at Highlands are covering up some sort of scandal. Anything short of this juicy narrative that you have fabricated in your head will just be "highlands sweeping it under the rug." What has Highlands done in the past, that makes you think they wouldn't be transparent? Or is that just you go-to line whenever you think a "scandal" has taken place. If you have any information that Highlands is hiding anything in this situation, or that they are attempting to "sweep something under the rug" please do share. There you are! I was wondering what took you so long... :puke:
August 30, 201610 yr There you are! I was wondering what took you so long... :puke: For the sake of keeping this thread open, I will refrain from a snarky comeback. It is proving to be a difficult thing to do, but I think I can hold off. :sssh: *added emoji this time*
August 30, 201610 yr For the sake of keeping this thread open, I will refrain from a snarky comeback. It is proving to be a difficult thing to do, but I think I can hold off. Good choice 62, I am not even to my B material yet much less the A+ material on this subject matter.

August 30, 201610 yr Maybe I missed this being said in a previous post, BUT.... IMO this student has seen his last days in the hallways of Highlands. Loaded or not, they should be expelled. In my nearly 2 decades of being in the classroom, there have been 3 guns found in the school buildings where I was teaching at that time. In all 3 cases, we never saw the student that brought the gun to school again.
August 30, 201610 yr Author Where does this kid go from here. Assume he will be expelled as he should. When he tries to enroll at another school do they ask why he got expelled and the family has to reply " he brought a loaded gun to school" does new school actually agree to let come there?? I sure wouldnt.

I sure wouldnt. Isn't this going to come with some kind of legal repercussions? I thought bringing a gun to school was kinda like an automatic, "your going to a juvenile detention center" thing? If so, I would imagine they would have some sort of educational program while he was there.
August 30, 201610 yr Lt. Whitford of the Ft Thomas Police Dept stated at the press conference he was taken to Juvenile Detention Center. What is the process for getting your child out of there and home until a hearing? Any Juvenile workers on BGP or legal eagles that care to share?
August 31, 201610 yr Good choice 62, I am not even to my B material yet much less the A+ material on this subject matter. Then please bring out the A+ material then. What is holding you back? I am confused at your anger at HHS about this. I am a proud alum but am by NO MEANS someone who thinks Ft. Thomas and HHS are perfect. I have been ripped by other HHS alums for being honest about HHS and not seeing everything through "blue colored glasses". What can the school say with all the confidentially protections we give minors today? The school cannot publicly speculate about "why" the kid did what he did, can it? As far as the HHS faithful closing ranks and not talking, some on here have given their thoughts. I bet most of the HHS faithful simply don't know what happened or if they ARE close to the situation, may not think it is anyone else's business...remember this is a minor with a family and the entire family must be going through hell right now. I honestly don't think any school or faithful would handle it much differently. Maybe you meant that any school would not be open about the situation but it sure does read like you are on a rant specifically about HHS.
