August 30, 201610 yr I said exactly what I meant. I think Highlands is done making a statement on the matter. The boy was charged and there won't be any further comment from the administration.
August 30, 201610 yr The kid is a juvenile, so is it not against the rules to post what guru is asking for?

August 30, 201610 yr The kid is a juvenile, so is it not against the rules to post what guru is asking for? I don't believe so in this case. But this is what I love about Highlands people, circle the wagons, close to the vest, tell no one!!!
August 30, 201610 yr So you think he was smart enough to hide the gun from his mom for who knows how long, even moving it out of the house on cleaning day, but he was so dumb at school that he exposed to another student(s)? I don't buy that at all, that sounds like a false narrative being pushed to cover up the truth. And I will just say it, I do NOT trust Highlands to tell us the truth. What information is it that you want them to tell you? What information are they legally allowed to publish?
August 30, 201610 yr Does it make a difference as far as the charge if the gun is loaded or not? Just asking out of curiosity. I'm willing to bet he was being bullied. Kids are not nice. Wrong, nobody was bullying him. I know the young man and he has had some difficulties over the past 3-4 yrs. I feel for him and his parents whom I also know. Its a sad situation and I hope he can get the counseling he needs to get better.
August 30, 201610 yr I don't believe so in this case. But this is what I love about Highlands people, circle the wagons, close to the vest, tell no one!!! To be honest though, isn't that the same with every school? Those who back and support their schools will usually do the same in similar situations.
August 30, 201610 yr Scary situation. The kid is clearly not in a good frame of mind. Scary to think what could have happened.
August 30, 201610 yr What information is it that you want them to tell you? What information are they legally allowed to publish? I think being completely transparent and honest about why the young man brought the gun to school is in everyone's best interests. He put everyone at risk, if he takes a hit or two that is too bad, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (or one). With all that said, whatever is going on in his life I hope he finds peace.
August 30, 201610 yr To be honest though, isn't that the same with every school? Those who back and support their schools will usually do the same in similar situations. Yes, most schools lie through their teeth on a regular basis.

Also there was an incident off campus late last week that needs to be dealt with by the school as well in my opinion.
August 30, 201610 yr Schools are under confidentiality laws so they can seldom be totally transparent with the public in these types of situations. Now schools can be completely transparent with police officers who can then do with that information as they see fit. But schools cannot go public with specific information about students. Period. Can't believe I'm in any way defending HHS. I can't stand the cake eaters. Dang it Guru...

If it is another incident involving bullying at Highlands of course they are not going to tell the public anything. And if it is bullying it probably has them shaking in their boots a little because of the way they minimized the bullying last time to call it something other than bullying.
August 30, 201610 yr Funny, I heard differently. Also there was an incident off campus late last week that needs to be dealt with by the school as well in my opinion. There have been plenty of incidents off campus with this kid but he has some deeply rooted anger that needs addressed.
