10th Region Preview

Featured Replies

Kennedy Igo from Moco

Jasmine Flowers I think from Bath Co

Both of these were 8th graders last year

Maliyaah Owens is the girl from Scott Co, I think she lead GRC in scoring last year, but transferred back to Scott Co, not for sure. All are really nice players and young players

Igo is the best player in that region.

Ok I will take the bait. I'm guessing that's what this is cause I'm not thinking many people would agree with you. I would say the following players are the best six players in the 10th

Clephane - Scott

Stapleton - Scott

O'Mara - MC

Frodge - MC

Clos - Campbell

Schwarber - Campbell

Bolus would disagree too

Have to agree with Carpediem here. I think the top four teams are the correct teams but the order seems a little much. GRC is counting on transfers, Scott has experience. Campbell lost a few but have several good players back. Mason deverves the top ranking until beaten though. All seniors, playing together for years, final four two seasons ago. If Mason ends the season as number four in the region it would be shocking. Can any of the other three beat MC in the regions and head to state, yes, could happen. But preseason Mason is #1 or #2.

Seems to be the norm there these days.

I am sure if they wanted to come to your school, you would turn them away. Every school get transfers, some more than other because of location.

Your right, we would love those type of players transferring in to any school.

Heard a Behanan girl from Lloyd also went to GRC. Is that true?

Must be just a rumor going around in Mason co. I don't know of any that has come in this year. The girl that was rumored to leave, you may be talking about Jasmine Flowers, That I have not heard either. GRC has Elizabeth Hardiman at 6'3 which will give other teams lots of problems.

As far as rankings I think it is a no brainier. Mason Co should be ranked#1 with all they have back and now seniors.

FWIW...The transfer "rumors" did not start in Mason County. It has been discussed in BGP earlier. Igo from MC was definitely one transfer, then supposedly a girl from NKY and another girl. I didn't have their names. I get all my info on BGP :ylsuper: so that's where the "rumor" started.

Remember to post within the rules.

#4. No recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA – Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

Thanks for handling that one. LOL

IMO, O'Mara is the best player, but Taylor Clos has more potential than anyone in the group.

MC has 8 seniors on the roster and GRC has 3 transfers from what we have been told. IMO they are the top 2 teams. Montgomery lost one of the transfers to GRC so that hurt them. Here's my preseason top 5.

1. Mason County

2. GRC

3. Scott High

4. Campbell Co.

5. Bracken Co.

FWIW...Mason County has a very tough schedule so they very well could have more losses than last year heading into post season play.

Seems like a pretty reasonable assessment .

Just curious because I don't know much about the 10th. Was the Bracken County "varsity" team that played in the Ludlow summer league their full team or just new, young kids getting some playing time. The couple times I saw them they were really struggling. Or does the 10th just have a big drop off after the top four?

Bracken was never at full strength this summer, whether it be from injuries and/or players missing.

Other factor was, their coach at the time had one foot out the door.

Anticipate a much different looking team come the regular season.

That makes sense then. Thanks for the info

IMO Briana McNutt is the best player in the 10th that no one is really giving much credit to. I look for her to have a big year.
