10th Region Preview

IMO Briana McNutt is the best player in the 10th that no one is really giving much credit to. I look for her to have a big year.

If not for her, odds are, Mason's season ends in the opening round of district play last season against Bracken Co.

I agree, her name is not mentioned nearly enough. She can score but her rebounding is outstanding.

Averaged 4.9 rebounds a game, most on her team.

Really no girl on Mason County is going to have a huge stat line for the year. They are a balanced team and will have multiple leading scorers and rebounders for the various games. O'Mara gets the most pub and rightly so, but the other girls all can play.

Agree.

Likewise, Maddy Kalb from Bracken, according to KHSAA, averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds with 10 double-doubles last season.

Loving all the banter back and forth.

Judging from the lack of comments about them. I look for the Eagles to fly under the radar again this year.

When it comes to talking about the 10th there is no getting around the fact that there is a lot of talent among the top teams. And while I always take umbrage with the term "best player". I can't wait to see them all in action this year.

Best of luck to all the girls and lets bring the title home this year!!!

Scott High may be flying "under the radar" on the discussion board, but I know the 10th region teams are very aware of them and the talent. Especially the top 2 girls...they can play. They aren't going to sneak up on anyone.

Yes I agree...Scott should have a really nice year.

I'm from Nicholas County,we don't expect to win the Region or anything, but I do think we have a chance to have a really good year, playing for the most part very good competition. We will see.

very consistent team. I get to see them play 3-4 times a year. A heavy favorite to win the district, IMO.
