Do you knock the kid for not attempting to honor his word/signature on his National Letter of Intent or do you chalk it up to a change of heart on his part and bless it because he is just a kid? Also, if he wasn't going to play at UK right out of high school what is the thought process that goes into thinking that he will play there now? Does UK take walk-ons when the season is starting in a week and a half or is he going to have to sit out the year and if so why wouldn't he just play for a year at Morehead and then transfer and sit out next year? Why stay in a situation that isn't going to work for you?? Staying doesn't help him (academically or athletically)or Morehead.

Good Question. Some walk ons had to wait until the first day of class(Yesterday) to be able to do team functions.
August 25, 201610 yr Measurables? Maybe an inch or two too short and a few pounds too light. Didn't hit the camp circuit because he played baseball every summer with a very high-level team. There could be any number of reasons. This kind of describes the MS players. Just a inch or 2 on the short side and a pound or 2 on the lite side. Good football, certainly not D3. Wish him well at UK.
August 25, 201610 yr Was Slusher that good that everybody knows who he is and where he's from by just his last name? He was named Greater Cincinnati Athlete of the Year. A tremendous football and baseball talent. It is my understanding that he went to MSU because he had an opportunity to play both sports if he chose to. His main focus was on football. I'm also hearing that he was the only freshman who MSU wasn't going to red shirt. He was lining up as the 3rd wideout. It was explained to me that the situation wasn't the right fit and the program wasn't what he had envisioned. UK had recruited him to play defense and the young man made the decision to transfer. Cudos to the kid for having the talent and wherewithal to get out of a bad relationship. I hope he has great success at UK and wish the best for him!

August 25, 201610 yr Morehead State is a fine program and Brett was thankful for the opportunity to play there but it was not as good of a fit as he had thought. Brett's personal dream was to play for a big program and work hard to earn a scholarship, he realized this dream was still attainable and is going for it. Well said. Sounds like the young man made the decision for what is best for his future. End of story, IMO. Best of luck to him.
August 25, 201610 yr Sounds good, just wasn't sure why leaving Morehead St. would be a big deal. So I assume UK next year and not on this years roster? He had 12 days from the start of classes to transfer to UK or he had to sit out this year. He made that deadline so he will redshirt this year.

You know what Morehead, if you don't want to give scholarships and you don't want to treat the players right then drop football.
August 25, 201610 yr Correct me....wasn't he an exceptional baseball, football and track athlete? Heard he was also an exceptional (like in off the charts) student and President of his class. Tremendous hands and good speed. Suspect he will see real time on the field next year. I would commend the young man for making the hard decision.

August 25, 201610 yr I am a big Dayton fan and as good asthey were they.being non-scholarship school would have problem beating MT.UNION most years.
