I just can't believe there is not more posting and good back and forth banter on this thread. This is usually the week for sandbagging and a little good humored badgering. What in the world is going on?! I had to search for this thread on page 2. WOW.

I was thinking the same thing. You Ram fans and Tomcat fans are slacking.

I, too, miss the days of reading the message boards in anticipation prior to a big game. I think our northeast Ky area high school football rivalries hit their peak during the Raceland-Fairview rivalry right before the Eagles got in trouble and the whole thing fell apart. Those were fun games to anticipate and attend. It's just sort of a down year for high school football around these parts. Raceland has the best shot at making noise in the playoffs. The other local teams, though, don't have a lot of hope for doing anything, so therefore, not as much excitement from their fans. Ashland, Greenup, and/or Boyd will run into Johnson Central. Russell will run into Belfry. End of the road. As for the specifics of this game, Ashland lost 2 D-1 players that can't be replaced and a lot of other experienced players. The only intrigue in this game is if Kurtlen Brown would show up again playing for Ashland on Friday. It would hearken back to the exciting glory days of area high school football rivalries as he played for Fairview against Raceland when he was a freshman. In all reality, Raceland should beat Ashland handily this year. If they don't, then I don't have much hope for the Rams either.

Well, going along with my previous thread about taking care of the ball... I got to see some of the Jackson scrimmage yesterday. The first 5 series, we had 4 turnovers. Going to have to clean that up a lot if we expect to win on Friday.

After over hyping last year's team, I think the Raceland faithful have toned it down a bit this season. There's more of a "cautious optimism" surrounding this team. Personally, I think this edition of the Rams looks like the real deal.

Talked to an assistant, he said they looked awful and must clean it up to get a W Friday night. Cats shouldn't wear down as no O lineman or D lineman are going both ways.

I'm going to pick Ashland to win, 35-31. I think we see another new star emerge for Ashland and give them a boost, which coupled with their home field advantage will be enough to squeak out a hard fought victory. I really think this has all the makings of great game.

Question for the Kitty Cat faithful. Is brown back at Ashland? If so, when is he eligible?

Brown will be eligible against Russell. That figures lol. It seems every time someone enrolls at Ashland they're freshly available against Russell:sssh:

We need "Painter" and "Graybeard" ....those guys were fun, with all the "banter" back and forth with.

"Could be good" .....you were right about the other, there was a lot of "Crowning the Rams" before justified last season. Raceland didn't start playing with any consistency until the last couple of games / playoff.

That's why we call it "Last Season". :thumb:

I just hope we can manage to keep that blasted cannon from going off every 30 seconds...lol

Jack Tatum, Terry Bradshaw and most recently there was O'dell Beckham Jr......
