I agree with Fear the Nation. I think Colonel fans are being awful low key about this team. They have some talent and it is year two of Eviston. I would be very leery of this team if I were Ryle.

I agree with you both. I really think Cov Cath, Highlands and Cooper are all being underrated so far this pre-season. I look at the senior leadership of last year's Ryle team and the leadership of this year's Ryle team. Very similar. Good kids with good heads and great heart. I don't see them sleeping on anyone and taking any team for granted.

How much better do you guys think CCH will be vs last year?

I don't think CCH fans are being coy. I'd imagine this team might be good. However, Saturday's scrimmage certainly didn't show that. CCH may fare better against Ryle later in the season.

 

Unless Ryle's D is porous this feels like a Ryle W . Hope I'm wrong.

Ryle has their top 2 receivers back in Bryce Ashley and Jake Long. Chisholm out of the back field along with Cole Burch will also get some balls their way. Zach Cusick will be a deep threat for the Raiders.

I will assume they will also have some special plays under their hats if needed! Friday should be a fun game to watch for us fans!

Yes, Chisholm is the smallish quick back. Great field vision. Reads block well.

True, it probably isn't being coy. It might be more they have grown somewhat gun shy. Many CCH fans have stated loudly the past couple years that this team is the team, only to be disappointed. So, even if they believe that about this year's team, they are reluctant to say it.

 

However, after reading about the scrimmage and your post above, maybe I am wrong. Maybe the CCH fans are worried or at least unsure about this team and believe it is better to wait and see.

CovCath was very vanilla on offense against Campbell County, so it was tough to see where they truly are. I'd expect more from under center b/c they looked pretty good from there. They did drop quite a few passes. My concern is their defense. Their secondary.lbs had a tough time in the flats. I am afraid for the Colonels that that will be corrected, but they seams will come open like they did last year when these two played.

Maybe the CCH fans....believe it is better to wait and see.
