If you sit on the right side of the aisle and you still believe then you have to believe some of your GOP rising stars (Trey Gowdy, Tom Cotton, etc. ) dropped the ball on the most expensive Congressional investigation ever.
July 19, 201610 yr Well, that doesn't fit the agenda of the right side of the aisle. The blame for this falls on the shoulders of every elected official in Washington, right side, left side and center. They have left Americans with no one to answer for these huge lapses of security. There's enough blame to go all around and then some. Nearly every elected official has let their constituents down. We are confronting the worst threats as a nation ever and the Washington partying and other extracurricular activities better stop or they will not need to worry about reelection. This means judicial, electoral and legislative branches. It means the Pentagon, FBI and CIA, that we spend so much money to maintain, need to take their jobs and our security seriously.
July 19, 201610 yr Did anyone read the recent report? Anyone? Nothing went into motion for 9-hours, nothing. No assets, no rescue, nothing. Officially, there were around 4 people in Benghazi the night of the attack. Two of the killed early in the attack. So State suffered casualties early and had little to gain by follow on action. There were no military staff there so DoD had no personnel in Benghazi. That left over 3 dozen CIA operatives at the 'Annex'. Only two cabinet level functions would have had to know they were there - CIA and the State Department. And it seemed no one really cared - at all - if they lived or died. After a 2 hour meeting at the WH, it ajourned with no action plan. HRC, Penneta, Obama all went to bed with action still underway - and no single asset in motion and no plan in place to effect extraction of non-DoD personnel involved in ongoing actual combat. In the end - with the help of Team Tripoli - these people had to rescue themselves. They were abandoned at the highest levels. Is HRC solely to blame? No. Does she share as much blame for lack of action as all the other major player - obviously yes. No one (including rarely mentioned John Brennan) took action in real time to save over three dozen Americans. Its amazing that people want to ignore these facts to play political games and call it just an agenda. Americans under attack were abandoned and left to die during an ongoing 9 hour battle. And HRC was one of those that abandoned these Americans.
July 19, 201610 yr Seems to me that the leadership knew there was an issue in Benghazi and chose to sit it out. A leader would have fought to defend the staff there and if a higher authority (Obama?) had said no, she should have resigned immediately. Then to fabricate the video story and deny the facts is disgusting, if not criminal.

Americans, non-military Americans, were fighting off an attack for 9 hours and after a two meeting at the WH, there was no plan - its in the report. They issued no orders, did not ensure any action was happening. HRC, Obama, Penetta - all the key cabinet players were there. No fabrication - fact. Its in the report.

There were no armed drones within range of Libya. There was no Marine expeditionary unit, a large seaborne force with its own helicopters, in the Mediterranean Sea. The Africa Command also did not have on hand a force able to respond rapidly to emergencies. Every other regional command had one at the time. The Pentagon was caught unprepared for this type of crisis. On the night of the attacks, the Pentagon was able to divert an unarmed Predator drone operating 90 miles away to Benghazi, and the C.I.A. later used it to help plan an escape route for the surviving Americans. But other military forces were too far away or could not be mobilized in time, military commanders have said." From NYT I don't think anyone argues the tragedy of Benghazi, but many of suggest there was a criminal negligence by HRC which is simply untrue. I know the movies make it seem we can mobilize a force instantaneously, but sadly some places that's not true.
