I do not believe that blocking an interstate is peaceful nor should it be legal. Protesters that injure cops are doing terrible things that hurt their cause and I hope that they all are arrested.

The first part of my post was sarcastic. Nothing in the rest of the post was exaggerated. If you can dispute it, please do. I've seen plenty of evidence posted in threads within the last few days to back up my claims.

I have seen many videos of thuggery at BLM events. I hope they keep it up and I hope Hillary keeps pandering to them. The optics of that alliance will be used as a bludgeon by the Trump super pacs.

I'm not aware of any spokesperson. From what I can gather, there is a more formal chapter based organization, which seems to be directed by the operators of the blacklivesmatter.com domain, and a loose amalgamation of activists and protesters united by the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag/slogan. It further seems like the former are more prevalent on college campuses and the latter are more indicative of the public protests in various cities we've seen, though I don't think they are mutually exclusive. I don't think there is a precise leader or leadership outside of the chapter based organization.

At almost every BLM protest i see signs accusing every cop of being a racist killer. They scream at officers who they don't even know. They throw things at officers they don't know. They injure and threaten officers they don't know.

 

I see many comments by posters here on threads about the way a white person is treated by police insinuating it would have went differently if the person had been black, when those posters dont even know the officer in question.

 

They had a march in Bardstown on Sunday and none of the stuff you talk about happened. I'm again reminded of the Tea Party.

What I am saying is they need to quit calling for killing cops and many protesters becoming violent.

 

It's very difficult to have an open discussion when just because someone disagrees you see it as dismissive. I don't think it is all of the BLM members but it more than a "few" creating the violence.

Considering you had dug up a few links already, it seems like in your eagerness to label them a terrorist group you sought out any evidence of protesters making violent statements, but didn't bother to look for or consider any evidence to the contrary. I think that's a little tendentious, considering what a serious claim you're making.

The prevalence of negative statements was fairly overwhelming. My point was that….well, the negative statements associated with BLM were overwhelming and the organization wasn't doing a whole lot to dispel that with the average citizen who was generally surfing around.

The WNBA has fined the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever and their players for wearing black warm up shirts in the wake of recent shootings by and against police officers.

All three teams were fined $5,000 and each player was fined $500.

 

The Liberty have worn the plain black shirts four times, including Wednesday morning against Washington. The Mercury and Fever wore them Tuesday night. While the shirts were the Adidas brand — the official outfitter of the league — WNBA rules state that uniforms may not be altered in any way.

 

"We are proud of WNBA players' engagement and passionate advocacy for non-violent solutions to difficult social issues but expect them to comply with the league's uniform guidelines," WNBA President Lisa Borders said in a statement provided to The Associated Press on Wednesday night.

 

The league sent out a memo earlier this week to the teams reminding them of the uniform policy. The memo came out after Minnesota, New York and Dallas all wore shirts in remembrance of two men who were shot by police and the five Dallas police officers who were killed in an attack on July 7.

 

The Lynx only wore their shirts once and said they will shift their focus to addressing the issue in other ways. The Liberty reached what the players called a compromise in which they wear plain black shirts bearing only the Adidas logo. New York's normal warm-up shirt is black, but has its logo on it as well.

Bad move to fine them. The NBA didn't fine any of the male players when they wore their I Can't Breathe shirts instead of warmups and those shirts were more controversial than these. I'm confused as to why the league wants to take a stance on uniform violations now.

Makes sense but it still sends the message to the women that they are second class citizens in the eyes of their employer. The NBA runs the WNBA so while they may be trying to be politically correct and fine the women they still show a double standard. A stern warning to adhere to the uniform policy without a fine would have worked great and after the warning let the fines come into play for future violations.
