Nope. In the 60s protestors were arrested for similar tactics. They got some civil rights eventually though didn't they?

 

I disagree with violence and I disagree with harassment. I agree with any organized protest that is done peacefully. If they break the law and are arrested then that is part of it. For the hundreds of protests that have gone on throughout the country the arrests reflect a small percentage of the protestors. I'll also add that blocking the highway in Arizona got the police and BLM to the table to talk and work on fixing their community together. That's all people want is to rally behind one another and work for a better future.

 

All I needed to know. Blocking a highway could get someone killed, fired from a job, make them miss a kids game, miss a dying loved ones last minutes on earth.

Isn't this exactly what BLM and the media did to characterize all white police officers? But don't blame them when a white officer is shot by a black man that directly states they are doing it in retaliation for the shootings by the officers?

 

Perhaps the answer is we need more black officers. Why aren't there more black young men applying for officer jobs? And don't tell me they don't have the opportunity. Yes they do if they want to.

I still remember seeing Reginald Denney laying in the middle of the street in LA next to his truck getting his head beat in with bricks. I have a hard time thinking I should stop. Never know if the mob mentality has set in. I can't read minds and don't know if someone wishes to harm me because I'm white and they are mad at white people. Honk the horn and pray they move I guess.. Especially if my kids are with me.

I dont really know. Depends on a lot of things. I wouldn't stand on the highway and try it out though.

The number of minority officers which apply is non-existent. @PurplePride92, don't you believe many in the African American community are discouraged, from a young age, to not trust the police so in turn they are not going to take that as a career path?

Maybe. I can see that mindset in the inner cities but in my area alone we have at least 4 black cops and the police chief is black. Does anyone have the numbers of black cops in the police force? We do know that a black cop was murdered in Baton Rouge and I think there were 2-3 black cops involved in the Freddy Gray case. If looked into I imagine that the number of black cops reflect the demographics of their community. I can think of three black police chiefs in major cities off the top of my head and I imagine they aren't the only three black police chiefs in America as I am not including the black police chief of Danville. I'd love to see the numbers.

The problem is it is not proportionate to the areas being patrolled. Kind of like the NFL and the Rooney Rule. Percentage wise the number of African American head coaches may be reflective of society, but not the teams.

I wonder if a charge of Unlawful Imprisonment could apply for those blocking roads with their "protests".
