I don't blame everyone in BLM for the actions of the groups. However my point was that these are not small groups doing these things. These are large groups of people.

 

Small in reference to the total number of people that support BLM.

While I know you are not talking to me, in my estimation (going back to my previous post) the largest issue they have is that BLM is a victim of the social media, social justice society in which we live. Last week when President Obama explained that "BLM is more than just about black people and doesn't mean other lives do not matter....", it was probably the first time millions of people heard that uttered. You may hear that passingly, but no person of prominence is delivering that message.

I agree with your sentiment completely. Not having a true leader has hurt the BLM message. Also having extremists claiming the movement has been very detrimental.

Police have to change from within, as do criminals. Don't be so quick to leave the discussion. Sometime it is difficult before the break thru.

So the gals made their statement. Has is brought more people into the seats to see the games? Are BLM supporters showing their support by attending the games? Are cops still refusing to work the games? Did it accomplish anything other than a fine and a reason to talk about an organization that is only there so the NBA can say they are supporting women?

Nope. In the 60s protestors were arrested for similar tactics. They got some civil rights eventually though didn't they?

 

I disagree with violence and I disagree with harassment. I agree with any organized protest that is done peacefully. If they break the law and are arrested then that is part of it. For the hundreds of protests that have gone on throughout the country the arrests reflect a small percentage of the protestors. I'll also add that blocking the highway in Arizona got the police and BLM to the table to talk and work on fixing their community together. That's all people want is to rally behind one another and work for a better future.

I hear you and believe me there's no malice in my statements whatsoever. I just believe everybody needs to be held accountable when they are acting out. The police, white criminals, black criminals all need to be held accountable nobody should get a pass nobody should get freebies. White people should be able to hold white people accountable, black people should be able to hold black people accountable, nobody should get a pass because you're the same race. On the other hand there's nothing wrong with a white person holding a black person accountable or vice versa, it isn't racism it's just plain and simple right and wrong. I've seen some pretty bad examples of policing towards black people and am sickened by what I see. So in no way shape or form am I saying there isn't a problem. This isn't an overnight fix this is a generational problem that's going to take awhile to fix. The truth is the black crime rate has to come way down, to be only 13% to commit over 60% of crime puts black people in front of the police far too often. When those encounters happened people need to stop fighting with the police, it's never going to end well and gives them an excuse. If there wasn't as much crime in the black neighborhoods there wouldn't be as many police in the neighborhood that is a fact. I live in a white neighborhood and while there's rarely any crime I can count on my hands the time I've seen the police in the nine years I've lived there. So when black people feel like they're being picked on there's another side to that coin which nobody wants to look at or admit to. That's where the whole Chiraq argument keeps coming into play. Believe me with love in my heart I wanted to be better and I wanted it to be better yesterday. BUT for it to be better everybody has to act better. It's going to take both sides to be better, better people better citizens, better humans. I pray one day when you and I and everyone else looks across the table at someone of a different color we're not separated by our skin that we truly see each other the right way. I'm not perfect but I'm 99.9% there I just need everybody else to be with me. I know I've been critical of BLM and some of the things I said seem harsh but just like my kids I say it because I want better from them. I don't want excuses I'm not going to sugarcoat it and I am just as critical of racist white people as I am of BLM or some of the stuff they've done. I can't stand it won't tolerate it's and good way to get punched in the mouth. Guess I grew up different. I like being around different people of all nationalities. Makes life interesting. PP92 you seem like a really good dude and seemed very sensible. So I know you know this to be true we need to start judging people of bad character by their character. Color don't or should matter anymore. None of us picked the skin were in.
