It's Fort Thomas, didn't really have to say it was two white guys.

Could be my favorite post of 2016.

News is reporting the victim died.

Donnie Smith was the victim. We went to school with him to. Do you remember him?

Who are you talking to? The quote button is your friend.

Funny thing is my mother recently moved to Fort Thomas and the house she moved into is literally about 2 blocks away. We were in Lexington today so she might not know about this yet so this should be an interesting story to tell her!

I don't but I'm breaking out the yearbooks tomorrow

So now we have 1st degree manslaughter in the fort.

So now we have 1st degree manslaughter in the fort.

Likely but I'd say the prosecutor could go for Murder.

507.020 Murder.

(1) A person is guilty of murder when:

(a) With intent to cause the death of another person, he causes the death of such person or of a third person; except that in any prosecution a person shall not be guilty under this subsection if he acted under the influence of extreme emotional disturbance for which there was a reasonable explanation or excuse, the reasonableness of which is to be determined from the viewpoint of a person in the defendant's situation under the circumstances as the defendant believed them to be. However, nothing contained in this section shall constitute a defense to a prosecution for or preclude a conviction of manslaughter in the first degree or any other crime; or

(b) Including, but not limited to, the operation of a motor vehicle under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a grave risk of death to another person and thereby causes the death of another person.

That's completely, nuancedly hilarious.

I feel like I saw him pull a knife during a fight at the Pub. Fighting a much younger guy over a very homely woman.

Big-city creep stretching into Ft. Thomas. I thought the gate you guys had there kept all the riff-raff out?

I am sure self defense will be the defense also.

I've been there 3 or 4 times, so the answer to that is a resounding "no".

This doesn't bode well for the Midway District. I get it, this was a Isolated incident but come on, these 2 dudes grew up in that close proximity and have never left. We use to own a big chunk of property that surrounds that area and we actually just sold it last year to the Owner of Ft Thomas Pizza. Glad we got out! Lets just say this Perp isn't the only unstable Cat roaming the Streets on the Southside!

I personally know the Woman who works for the City and is responsible for the revitalization of the Midway District and believe me, there will be a Police presence in the area for weeks to come for sure. And rightfully so! The City will want to squash any doubt anyone has of feeling safe in the Area.

The City has worked very hard to get the Midway district to where it is now, that they won't tolerate an incident of 2 local guys who never left the nest to ruin the Party. With the 4 of July coming up, it's very important that People will feel safe to support the Local businesses in the Midway district.

Just my 2 Cents!
