May 26, 201610 yr Already here, and has been a long time. Coach refuses to recognize any individual athletic achievements at banquet......says its a team game and no place for individuals. Gives out academic awards, Varsity letters/bars and that is it :( Oh, and also has a rule in the player/parent handbook saying "Must attend year-end banquet to receive Varsity letter" Go figure.....and I am not kidding:ohbrother: WOW! Didn't know that, but not surprised. Everyone gets a letter regardless of playing time coming soon..........geesh. :idunno:

But in 2016 he's the PC police. Go figure.

May 26, 201610 yr This thread reminds me of the South Park "They took our jobs" episode. No where in the article does it say that not naming a valedictorian or salutatorian is because it is unfair, and the author's commentary in the title is the only placing mentioning kids feeling left out. The school board chairman just mentions the same concerns as @rjs4470 pointed out. I don't see anywhere where a student that finishes summa (not a word BGP lets me type) laude can't put his or her class ranking on his or her college application. I love the anti-pc badge of honor that gets thrown around. Instead of actually thinking about something lets just call it weak and blame it on the wussification of American. Better that than be branded a liberal.
May 26, 201610 yr While we are on the subject of graduation does there really need to be a graduation for every single grade? Kids graduate Day Care, Pre-School, Kindergarten, first grade, fifth grade, eighth grade and then we have Awards Day for everyone else who isn't graduating something in a particular year. I mean seriously, if we are getting rid of valedictorians can we make a rule that says only 8th graders, 12th graders and folks in college are allowed to graduate? I find the whole process redundant and pretty damn stupid. *end of rant

Girl at the party had ropes on for having a 3.8 GPA. Told the story that she signed up for them knowing she was getting a 4.0 the last semester which would get her GPA to where she needed it. Well there happened to be a sunny day and she just could not resist the temptation of Keenland. Forgot to do an assignment and it lowered her GPA below the required grade. She wore them anyway with pride. No one bothered to verify her grades when she ordered them.
