Where's the "I have no idea yet" option?

 

I agree with Bugatti, we have all had more election coverage this year than ever before. I wish I had put that option there too. You are a mod if you want change the poll option to include that option.

Unless one is trying to decide if they will vote for Trump (and I don't believe that is you), my guess if the decision has been made by most people. Clinton has been around since the Mesezoic Era so most know where she stands.

I disagree. What we've seen to date has given me no idea who to choose. And there is still Gary Johnson to consider. Additionally, in what may be a weird way of thinking about it, as a registered Independent, I can't vote in the primary. So, what good is putting too much thought into who will get my vote in November until after the field is set. It's like trying to pinpoint who you will be betting in the Derby in January.

I will be looking more deeply at third-party candidates this election. It will be a protest vote since third parties have no chance of winning under our system. I don't agree with Gary Johnson on everything, and some things I'm vehemently against, but I agree with him on enough things and I won't feel slimy making that call. I've looked over Jill Stein's platform and find it disagreeable, if not fantastical. I'm sure the Constitution Party will have a better showing this year, but their brand of fringe conservatism is anathema to me. I'm sure there will be others.

 

I find a vote for Donald Trump to be unconscionable. That the human equivalent of a Facebook meme is about to be nominated by a major party for the office of president is disturbing.

 

I don't find Hillary Clinton endearing, either. She's a politician's politician and has shamelessly climbed the ladder through any means possible. I don't know what motivates her outside of a Gollum-like fixation on the highest authority possible. In terms of her policies she promises to extend Obama's brand of liberalism into the future, but I don't believe she is so principled and would likely amplify the worst aspects of Obama's presidency, namely via her hawkish approach to foreign policy.

 

However, her likely unprincipled insistence on doing whatever is most popular at a given moment - the "triangulated" moderation her husband made famous - is what would make her the "lesser of two evils" if circumstances dictated it. I would not be excited by a Clinton presidency, but I would not fear it like I would Trump's.

I will most certainly cast my ballot for Mr Sanders on the 17th and Madame Clinton in November. It should be a sweet November rain for the Democrats.

The American people deserve a leader for the people, not serving for themselves or their special intetests or party. Untill we the people demand that our Commander in Chief has morals, character, patriotism, we will end up with the garbage we have today. We have let these parties become the ruling class and lord over us. We enable this by continuing to vote for the buffoons. Americans should unite behind independents of character. Won't happen though because we are a nation of sleep walking into the slaughter house on our own volition. It really saddens me that we once were the greatest nation on Earth. Can be again if we get off this road of government socialism and the erosion of our freedom and rights by authorities that in some cases aren't even elected by us.

Gary Johnson. I can't go to my grave knowing I voted for either Clinton or Trump.

While Trump is not my first or second choices, I cannot bring myself to vote for someone who lied to dead American's families.

 

I can't cast a protest vote for fear of HRC winning. Too much at stake with possibly 3 SCOTUS appointments upcoming.
