Forget about style points or insulting "Lyin' Ted" monikers that resonated with Trump supporters in the primaries. The next round of debates will be about substance. Mrs. Clinton will chew up Trump and spit him out for one simple reason: She's informed; Trump isn't.

I agree that questions on substance, when they can make their way into the debate, will be easily won by Clinton as Trump has no clue.

It will depend on the viewer. If you like entertaining sound bites and attacks, Trump is going to deliver. If you want a knowledgeable intelligent answer to a question, Hillary will crush him.

 

I think someone is giving Hillary to much credit on intelligence. She speaks in sound bites and flip flops on issues as much or more than Trump. Trump is just more over the top and entertaining.

His made-for-TV personality won him this primary (that and the prevalence of ideas whose time has perhaps come) but I really feel like he'll have to win the general election on polish. If he really goes to school over the next few weeks leading to the convention and has himself ready, I won't doubt Trump in a serious debate.

I heard someone today say that in for Trump to win he needs to get about 40% of the Hispanic vote. Seems like that's not going to happen.

What does the NY poll have to do with what we're talking about? She's going to win the election. She's just going to be made to look like a fool at points along the way. I suspect that will just be a warm up for her presidency though.

She lost nearly every debate with Sanders trying to be intelligent and knowledgeable...is she going to get smarter between now and September?

 

I agree that if Trump does the same routine in the fall debates he did during most of the GOP debates, that it will not work for him.

 

I think we see a flip of the two, I look for Clinton to be the louder and more aggressive debater in the fall.

The talking heads on CNN last night were kind of fretting about the fact that Trump doesn't speak from a script and that everything Clinton says is pretty much scripted, and were worried that would actually work in Trump's favor in a debate.

 

The fact that Trump didn't seem to really know much about issues or politics in general was one of the reasons that I thought that he would never be the nominee, but I surely missed that one as that seems to work for him. I guess it boils down to the people you surround yourself with anyway, the President is often just the mouthpiece of these people and the person who has to make the executive type decisions.

By the time debates get here, Trump will have painted Her as the most dishonest, corrupt politician to have ever walked the earth. The networks will run his sound bites non stop-24 hours because they and the nation, will be transfixed by this guy who is unafraid to say anything and expose everything about her. No matter what she may say regarding policy or platform, everything will be suspect and no one will be able to believe a word of it. All will be seen as lies, coverup and corruption.

Personally, I can't wait for Trump to ask the questions that Bernie was either afraid to ask or didn't want to ask for fear of upsetting the Ds. I want to hear her talk about Benghazi and her email fiasco in a debate.
