His leads in WVA and California before Cruz and Kasich dropped out were enough to ensure him the nomination after the Indiana win. Now that all of his competition has dropped out I think it's safe to say that Trump is the GOP Nominee.

Correct. Clinton is closer to clinching than Trump is.

 

Clinton only needs 15% of the remaining outstanding delegates to clinch and the Dem races are proportional. In other words, Bernie has to get 85% or more of the vote in the remaining races to keep Hillary from clinching.

 

Trump needs 36.5% of the remaining delegates to clinch. In winner-take-all races he is pretty safe though based on current polling.

 

Both Hillary and Trump are virtual locks to win but Hillary is even more of a lock than Trump.

Yep. With Kasich now dropping out, any remote possibility/doubt is removed and Trump is the nominee.

No way Trump can get enough voters to the polls to beat Clinton. He's trailing 81 to 16 in non-white favorability in a direct race with Hillary.

My first choice in this cycle was Dr. Carson. My default second choice was Cruz. That said, I've never thought that there was no way Trump might win. I kept watching him defy all the norms of politics. I've watched him shed gaffes like teflon. Now that he is the last man standing, he will get my vote because no matter how bad he might be, he will still be better than either Hillary or Bernie. I am really looking forward to the General campaign, when Hillary will be chewed up and spit out by the filterless Mr. Trump.

If Trump does beat HRC, it won't be because he's a conservative or a Republican, of which he is neither. If he wins it will be because he's destroyed HRC with his constant attacks or because he's rallied the middle class, both R and D, male and female, white/black/latino to the poll.

If anything the election cycle has given us this , an unfiltered smack down of Hillary on national TV. I can't wait for the first time he states how Hillary and Bill took his money and did what he said.

Really it comes down to one thing. People like me were never on board with Trump in the GOP , whether it's because you wanted someone else in my case Rand Paul or you were apart of the #NeverTrump group.

 

What the one thing is , are people more afraid of Trump or despise Hillary. With all the talk of Obama getting an unfair shake or hated for no reason. Make no mistake Hillary Clinton is the most despised politician by the GOP , the right and a large part of the center, for the last 25 years. So what matters more to them is what will determine the election.

It will depend on the viewer. If you like entertaining sound bites and attacks, Trump is going to deliver. If you want a knowledgeable intelligent answer to a question, Hillary will crush him.
