I don't doubt many republicans say they will vote for hrc. I don't doubt they're lying.

When the dust settles and tempers calm down and especially when the reality of an HRC dominated Supreme Court looms, R's will come around. A lot of what you are hearing now is political posturing. The establishment wants Trump to dump his entire policy agenda that he ran on. They expect him to become one of them, lie to get elected.

I'm seeing a mix. Most of my friends are Republicans as well, and most of them, sadly, are about as xenophobic and homophobic as they come. Most support Trump, a couple are sitting this one out, and one is voting for Clinton.

 

This is what I'm seeing. Many of friends are Dems and they are firmly behind HRC. I've got a couple hard core conservative friends that have bought into Donald, but my more moderate conservative friends are either voting 3rd party or for HRC.

 

So far in my eyes, it looks like the GOP is going to let Donald do this on his own. No insider seems to be prepared to hitch his wagon to Trump, which like or not is a big problem for Donald. He's so widely disliked outside of his core supporters. And the big problem for the party is Trump winning the nomination is going to further erode the already strained relationship the party has with minorities and women. And now that the focus is squarely on him, he's going to have to find a way to avoid the gaffs and missteps he's made thus far. A key point is how well he'll be able to swing people to his side and expand his support. Remember, he has been the leader since the primary season began. He's now in the position where he has to come from behind. And with his lack of political experience, and lack of party support, the politically savy Clinton campaign can really go after Trump's lack of experience and vulnerabilities.

 

However, he's defied the odds thus far. And HRC is not the most likeable candidate either. And if some event arises in between now and then (think economic downturn, world crisis, etc), it could be enough to turn the tables.

There are many very conservative people out there that won't vote for Trump because he's sexist and wants to discriminate against an entire group of people based solely on their religion. And he's a bully. As soon as someone disagrees with him, he launches into insults. How Presidential of him...

 

The whole labels of Republican and Democrat are stupid. Why does anyone need to be labeled? I'm glad I'm neither. I'm capable of forming my own opinions, thinking for myself, and not being some mindless lemming who simply pulls the lever for a candidate based solely on political party.

Romney, both Bushes, Speaker of the House are just saying no to Donald. McCain is saying Trump is a liability in his Senate re-election. I think this trend will intensify. A lot of GOP big-shots will be no-shows at the Cleveland convention.

I foresee that when Deflectin' Don gives his acceptance speech in Cleveland, about half of the delegates already will have headed for home. A half-empty arena ain't going to look good on TV.

My guess is that TTP is very much liking what he sees out the Republican Party right now. So am I. So is Hillary. Can't wait til November.

Did you ever consider who these delegates in Cleveland actually are? C-J published a list of Kentucky's GOP delegates recently. They're all pretty much established party hacks -- Mitch, Bevin, Bevin's wife, Massie, etc. You think they're going to (a) cheer with wild abandon for a candidate who likely will denounce the party platform ... or (b) take the first flight back to CVG? My money's on (b).
