The Dems know that and so does the republican money men Republican blue bloods don't want Trump because their little world crumbles. The interests of our nation state have been sold out. Trump's candidacy represents the only push back the middle class (and especially the lower middle class) has had in my memory. Do you think the 1/4 billion $ of negative advertising against Trump is to protect the interests of the 99%? People only spend that kind of money if their interests are threatened.

I honestly think that this is a good thing, due to their reasons for not liking him, such as his belief that big lobbyists have way too much control of the Politicians on both sides of the aisle in Washington. There is something about him that is irritating, but I would vote for him over any of the remaining candidates, either Republican or Democrat, with the exception of Kasich.

Both parties have spent a lot of time talking about helping the middle class, especially the last two elections. But neither party's core ideals really represents or fights for that class of people. I read this particular statement that summed it up for me best: "In truth, neither party is really interested in you. Both want your vote but after they have it, you will be forgotten."

They are Far Right on Fiscal Issues and want a smaller Federal Government but most support legalized pot and have no issue with gay marriage. But the evangelicals have hijacked what should have been the libertarian wing of the party sadly.

April 25, 201610 yr I just know that Tea Party is for individual liberties. One Tea Party group supports Cruz another supports Trump and one of the co-founders has said he supports Trump. The Tea Party is more an Ideal than a political party IMO. I agree, if the social issue costs no or a very small amount of money. If it costs money they are against it. I can't figure out what they would spend money on but themselves. That is my issue with their views and the fact , as has been stated, the Evangelicals hijacked them and they let them.

If the only thing Bernie changed was the name of his party, from Democratic Socialist to Republican, he would have won the Republican nomination already. Sanders and Trump are close agreement on free trade and on increasing the tax burden/removing loopholes on the 1%. I had suggested in a thread here that a Trump/Sanders independent ticket would be effective. Naturally, the idea was dismissed.

I am having a very difficult time thinking of any significant candidate in the last 25 years that I would choose Cruz over. Not one. This is how much I don't like Cruz - I don't even have a second thought about choosing Hillary over him.
