April 5, 201610 yr As a fan, you always want to see your favorite team maximize every ounce of talent on the roster. Not sure I've ever seen a team do that on the level Nova did this year. Every guy they asked to step up and make a major impact did just that. Unreal to watch...
April 5, 201610 yr Great game, fitting for a championship game. Villanova just "out toughed" UNC. What a final shot, as Rafferty said ... "Onions". I also loved how J. Wright handled the game, imo there is not many, a very small few in America that is in that class of coaching as well as handling themselves with total class. Nova's players were the same, one could certainly tell who their coach was by their actions, statements. UNC also played one helluva game, there was no quit in them either. Paige hit huge shots, all of UNC kids played well. UNC was just beaten by a little better, imo better prepared ball team that hit a clutch final shot. Villinova deserved to win, they made the play that they had to make and with a final this close ...every play was a play that they had to make, especially after losing the 10 pt. lead late. Both teams deserved to be in this championship game. The only better scenario would have been if those Wildcats could have been the "Kentucky Wildcats", but our Cats weren't good enough this season. On a side note away from the game played tonight ....I am sure that all of ESPN and the pro ACC media are hurting about now. There imo was no question that they were making sure that they were plugging / promoting that this UNC team was good in academics, etc. ... so much so it was obvious. At least I thought it was. Sorry ESPN, CBS and TBS ... The Roy Williams, UNC "Phantom Scholars" lost.

April 5, 201610 yr Arguably the best title game ever. At halftime I felt Villanova was going to win. They were just so tough on both ends of the floor and UNC was getting absolutely nothing easy. It just felt like Nova's game. Heck of a team and a team all the people who hate the one and doners will bring up from now on. This felt like a title game you would have seen 20 years ago the way it was played so tough defensively by both teams.
