March 31, 201610 yr I wonder what Wiltjer plans to do post-college. I guess he will try out for the NBA, but we no that ain't happening. I am not sure he can make it in Europe either. I mean this with no disrespect, but you know when you go to the YMCA and there is that one guy that schools everyone with no talent - the guy was named Larry and he was a janitor where I was from as a kid - that could be Wiltjer x 50. He may not make it in the league, but I have to believe he'll find a spot in Europe and make a nice chunk of change over there. They love their big men that can shoot.
March 31, 201610 yr Wiltjer will absolutely play professionally if he wants to. Not in the NBA, but he can make it overseas without question.
March 31, 201610 yr Wiltjer left because the players coming in were better than him and he wasn't going to play much. Wiltjer's lack of speed as noted on here many many times, meant he couldn't play defense at an acceptable level in the system UK was going to be running. I like Wiltjer a lot and hated to see him go, but it made so much sense for him to leave that I wasn't mad at him.

March 31, 201610 yr If Ryan Kelly can find a roster spot in the league then I imagine there may possibly be a spot for Kyle Wiltjer somewhere. You never know. Right. And I'll admit that I told my son Tayshaun Prince was too fragile to make it in the NBA! :ohbrother:

Did you really ever watch Wiltjer after he left UK or do you only remember how he looked in college at uk? He will have a very good career overseas if he chooses not to be in the nbdl.
April 1, 201610 yr Wrong. He wouldn't have helped this year because he would have already graduated. if he'd stayed at UK, he would have graduated last year. Sat out a year due to the transfer. He would have spent his senior season playing behind KAT. Kind of wrong too. It was already said if he did stay that he was actually going to redshirt that next season to get stronger if he had stayed.
