Brad Carr out at Scott?

Featured Replies

This is nothing new for some of their sports...

NKAC schools can't if they're in the same division. I doubt coaches will stand that united behind a coach who was forced out or fired. It's part of the job and coaches will see it that way.

Divided and conquered just like the Administrators like it.

Excellent post 4pp.

I am a little confused by Scott's handling of this particular recording. In the case of the student that posted/shared the fight at school to social media, that student is suspended, bad student. In the case of Brad Carr, that recording is one of the key pieces of evidence that was going to be used to terminate Coach Carr, so good student (or good whoever shared the recording of Coach Carr).

Forget about the fight for a second, it appears the Custom of Scott High School is to encourage students to record teacher wrongdoing and bring those recordings to the administration's attention.

Are your students secretly recording you?

Would it be the recording was not made public on social media like the fight was?

The accusations that the fight was not handled appropriately were made by the female student who recorded the fight. This is from WKRC. (link below)

You have made my point.....the girl was a FRESHMAN in high school. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that she has a little less credibility in the "fight club" arena than, well, just about everyone else involved or commenting on this thread.

If we are to believe that this situation was handled inappropriately because of the comments of a 14 year old facing expulsion, then we have seriously gone off the reservation.

Would it be the recording was not made public on social media like the fight was?

That is exactly what I am saying if you are Scott High School. From what we can see, recording Teacher wrongdoing at Scott High School is acceptable as long as the recording is shared only with the powers that be at Scott High School.

I'm hearing now that some coaches (in basketball and other sports) are going to put Scott on the "will not play list".

What does this mean?

What does this mean?

They won't schedule Scott.

They won't schedule Scott.

So teams aren't going to schedule Scott based on the fact that a coach resigned? That makes zero sense.

No I think teams are not scheduling Scott because they do not like how this has happened. Has it been officially said if Brad resigned or was he removed from the coaching position? I would also say if it was Trame (baseball coach at Scott) who had the recording teams who do not have to worry about the NKAC part of their schedule will not schedule them for baseball.

That is the craziest theory ever! As if most baseball coaches care what happens to a basketball coach. If anything, you want to schedule them and beat them. Especially with a new basketball coach.

The recording is a rumor? Teams aren't going to remove Scott off of their schedule because of a rumor? Coach Carr resigned, officially he resigned.

I am told by what has always been a credible source there is in fact a recording.

Additionally, that recording should be subject to open records if Fox 19 wants to do a follow up or WLWT 5 wants to do some real investigative journalism.

Brad Carr is liked by many coaches not just basketball. I would say it could happen, not that it will. It also was brought up earlier in the thread that someone had heard it may happen.

Not if they hide under PERSONNEL actions. Can't be FOIAed in that case. That's the way schools keep stuff from the media. FERPA is the worst thing to ever happen in getting info on scandals from pillars of education.

Sounds like another layer of Government Secrecy.
