I think some people might be embellishing on the stories a little bit. I'll give you the drunken part.

 

You didn't orgy on Spring Break?

I'm surprised more people don't go to South Florida. I know down below West Palm Beach and above Fot Lauderdale there is a strip that is nothing but bars kind of like Mainstraus Village in Covington not sure what city in Florida it is. I will find out when I go down there in a few weeks.

 

Grandparents and great aunt and uncle lived in the area way back in the day. I can still recite many of the town names between West Palm (we always used to visit Lion Country Safari when we visited). Lake Worth, Lantana (GPs lived there), Boynton Beach (aunt/uncle), Delray, Boac Raton, Deerfield, Pompano.

My wife and I stayed at the Sandpiper Beacon, and had drinks and oyster shots with some guy name Tracey Lawrence, he said he was a country singer, but I never heard of him.

Yea I will be staying in Lake Worth or Hypolaxo have a bunch of family down there. They really cleaned up Boynton Beach.

I remember going to the Lion Safari when I was a kid. Me and my son go out to the Everglades and watch aligators.

I'll be there in June and it will be packed like it is every June.

I stayed at the Sandpiper during my PCB trip as well. I don't recall much of that week, but I made damned sure I didn't forget what hotel I was in.

Did PCB once in college and Daytona once. Things happened, but it wasn't orgy city and there isn't much myself or my group of buddies could do right....but, we did college right. Post graduation houseboat trip on Cumberland? Different situation. :lol2:

 

On a side note...we went to PCB three summers ago on a family vacation...about 10 of us, kids and all. We stayed at this place called "Splash Resort" on the west end of PCB and I couldn't get over how much they'd tried to change their image. When I first heard of the idea, all I could do was think back 8-9 years ago to SB and "Family Fun" wasn't the picture...but, it was a great time.

The area is old and dirty. Stopped going there.

Have gone the last 2 Mays and had a great time. Considering going in July/August this year

Had a blast in Daytona back in 2008. No orgies. A pool down there will always hold a special place in my heart though.

The Pinellas beaches were absolutely packed this year. Still are. I try to stay away from them this time of year. However, we did go to PJ's on Indian Rocks, last week. Wasn't as bad as I expected, considering the time we went.

 

BTW, drinking on the those beaches have never been allowed. Coolers containing ice and milk jugs filled with "punch" rule, there.

One of my favorite Spring Break memories was driving all through the night and of course the passengers were drinking...a lot. Early the next morning we really needed a restroom so we nonchalantly rolled into Augusta National's clubhouse. It was greatness.

So you got to sit in front of the Dean of Men and listen to the "Do you enjoy attending Morehead State University? " lecture, too?

I went to PCB and Daytona for spring break. PCB was a mad house and I loved it.
