You quoted a 21 year-old Spring Breaker, what pearls of wisdom did you expect? I went on 1 Spring Break with my friends during my time in college (we had other excursions through school/football that always fell on that week). I would not have had as much fun without alcohol, not at that age. I may be in the minority, but if you take away the alcohol, you definitely take away the desire of people to go somewhere.

Didn't expect any. My point is though, if it will be tolerated, it will happen. If places don't tolerated it, it will move or be curtailed.

I was 21 yo at one time too. I drank some too. But I didn't have to get falling down sloppy I got no clue what I'm doing drunk to have a good time...nor did I have to drink anything to begin with to have a good time. Just never got the concept of having to get sloshed to have a good time, but it seems to be the accepted rule by many young (and some old) people in our society, and that's a shame.

I think that's the point. They want to get away from that and attract regular tourists.

Well good luck to them. I think it could go the other direction, though.

Short term hit for long term gain. :idunno:

I was always EXTREMELY happy as a parent that neither of my children did the drunken orgy spring break thing.

I think some people might be embellishing on the stories a little bit. I'll give you the drunken part.

I'm just thankful that social media and modern cell phones weren't a thing when I went.

I was in college once upon a time.

Didn't take spring break for either to occur.

I am not so sure it is good timing for a Louisville college student to complain about a lack of debauchery.

Ba-da-boom.

I did Key West 3 years and South Padre 1 year... ah the good ole days!

South Padre was one of the most insane things I've ever witnessed. You couldn't pay me to spend a week there in the spring. :lol2:

Yeah, then we'd all know you are lying about the orgies.

Luckily, the statute of limitations is up on most of my debauchery.

Exactly. :lol2:

I can honestly say that I didn't do much back then that I'm proud of. I've never seen anything like Spring Break. I went to PCB twice, Daytona twice and Gatlinburg once. There was everything from sex to drugs to fights to theft to vandalism to hospital visits. I hope my kids never have the urge to go to these places when they get older.

Yes South Padre was intense. While I wouldn't want to be around anything like that today, it was perfect for 21 year old me. That being said I saw much worse things occur at a Metallica, Kid Rock, etc. concert about 15 years ago at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. Talk about debauchery.

I'm surprised more people don't go to South Florida. I know down below West Palm Beach and above Fot Lauderdale there is a strip that is nothing but bars kind of like Mainstraus Village in Covington not sure what city in Florida it is. I will find out when I go down there in a few weeks.
