How do you stop Ben Weyer?

Featured Replies

I think it's a really relevant question, given how versatile this young man is. He can dominate down low (see Trinity) and beyond the arc (see Murray). He can play with his back to the basket and on the wing. You can't let him go to the arc and let your big man sag bc Weyer can hit the three, but he can also drive.

The fans turned this thread not the guru. Just bc some asinine poster says something everyone gets all fired up. That poster is just trying to get you fired up.

I think this thread is a compliment to Ben Weyer.

It is. The first thing I thought was that this is a great thread.

Now THAT is funny.

I heard that. Nobody thought I was a Mason fan when I asked everyone if the Royals could beat Oklahoma?

I am thankful that many of you recognize this thread is absolutely a compliment to Ben Weyer and as Jackie Ed correctly pointed out it is a relevant question.

Most of you don't know Ben Weyer. If he were to read this - the negativity would just motivate him! You're always going to have people try to cut you down. What that boy, yes boy has accomplished in his high school basketball career many only dream of. Not sure the definition of rescinding an offer is- but NKU is not where Ben wanted to go to school D1 isn't every players top priority - a good education, good chemistry with the team and coaches are what Ben was looking for and got! Those of you who have supported Ben - thank you and those who continue to diminish his accomplishments -that's on you. Go Breds!! Final Four is great but strive for more!!!

Weyer is a great player for NewCath. I hope they win the state. The question was asked about can he be stopped, some of us said yes and pointed out why and how. That is not diminishing him as a high school player at all.

Weyer has trouble with athletic players who body up on him. If Goodin plays against him, Goodin is too quick and way too athletic for Weyer. Remember that Weyer is a Division II player, Goodin is a big-time Division I recruit who can defend guards or forwards. That would be a bad matchup for Weyer, who has limited quickness and ball handling skills.

His limited quickness and ball skills have gotten him this far...he may have struggled with a few athletic players bodying him up but learned from it and came out ahead of them. His high school record is 115 and 15...There's always going to be someone better than you...Ben knows that and learns from it.

Only thing is that is not what you said Thor or is it sore like in loser? Had to respond since the idiot meter on my computer went off. You have done nothing but bash the kid from your very first post. Just love the courage of some that get their jollies out of bashing high school kids.

I think the last few days they picked up a couple more wins, I hope they make it 119-15 on Sunday.

Now THAT is funny.

Spotted G once in a BellCo T-shirt that said "Dudley Forever/Highlands Never" on the back. He didn't want to talk about it too much at the time, so I didn't press the issue. It has been awhile, though.
