(NCAA First Round)

Final need a good game Sat. to take down the Hoosiers. The NCAA and CBS got what they wanted. Those will be two big time games in Iowa on Sat. Kansas and UConn and Kentucky and Indiana.

Also tonight's win by the Cats is the schools 2200 win in school history!

Good game to get it going. Hopefully put some nervousness behind us, and did enough good stuff that the kids should all feel good about themselves going into the next game. .......Skal. Really glad for him.

Alright, on to the real test. Yogi Vs Ulis will be fun. Can't wait.

Cats better guard the 3 and hit the glass. They gave up 26 offensive rebounds tonight. I don't care if they won by 28, that's just awful.

Really like the Cats D in this game.

Also really like the balance scoring:

Poythress-12 pts

Labissiere-12 pts

Briscoe- 13 pts (5-8 FG) (3-3 FT) also 11 rebounds Double/Double

Murray- 19 pts

Ulis- 10 pts

Willis- 8 pts

Lee- 7 pts (3-4 FT)

Warney had 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead Stony Brook.

On down note we did give up 25 offensive rebounds to Stony Brook.

I was pleased to see how the Cats came out, stayed steady and just took care of business. U.K. couldn't have thrown it in the ocean and standing on the beach in the first half. I wa glad to see them not panic, stay with the game plan and complete the easy win.

Ulis ended up with 10 pts. as well as breaking the single season assist record at U.K.. Murray, after a horrid shooting first half ended up with 19. I thought that Skal was really impressive, he needed this one to build confidence for IU. I forgot how many blocked shots we had but it was an impressive amount. U.K. played great on defense in this one.

AM entire different animal on Saturday with the hated (by me anyway) Hoosiers from that state across the river from Louisville. IU looked really good in their game and this one will be a very tough one on Saturday, to say the least.

One down, Five to go. Succeed and Proceed.

While the offensive rebounds are somewhat worrisome I think they're negated by the 15 blocked shots UK had which is a tournament record.

Win and move forward. 5 more straight wins to go!

Go Cats!

That first half was the ugliest basketball I have watched in quite some time.

Amazing how much more energetic the guys looked with fresh legs. Tremendous defensive effort. Cal has this team primed.

For the record @HammerTime, the 15 blocks last night broke the old NCAA record of 14, which was set by the 2012 Kentucky team. So it was a NCAA, and a Kentucky tournament record.

I didn't realize UK was the 7th leading shot blocking team in the country. Warney was a load, but the rest of Stony Brook was bad. Even when the game was brutal to watch in the first half, you knew if UK got out to any advantage the Seawolves (what in the hell is that?) had no shot.

Actually my understanding was it broke the NCAA record held by the 1998 UK team vs UCLA.

You are correct.

First half was rough to watch but glad to see they turned it on in the 2nd.

Needs to bigs to produce on the offensive end again tomorrow.
