I have enjoyed watching Carson. Truly have, but some of you so overrate him it's awful. He's got terrific athleticism and is strong around the basket. But to play at a "Notre Dame" type level he would have to improve his ball handling immensely, develop a perimeter game and improve his lateral quickness. Is he going to guard the 3 at the next level in the ACC? He's not tall enough to guard the 4 or 5. Come on folks, Carson is headed to a great fit for him at NKU. I hope he has a stellar career there. I'm sure he will continue to improve and develop into a solid contributor. I'm excited to follow his progress and see his game mature and develop there. Like everyone else, I love his demeanor. Just a great attitude. But wow, we need some reality checks on this board when it comes to player evaluation at the next level. Sheesh!

I was in Indy the night before and watched future Virginia Cavalier, Kyle Guy and future Florida State Seminole, CJ Walker, probably the top 2 seniors in Indiana go head to head and its my evaluation/ opinion in 2 years or less he would be capable of playing on that level with work on his jumper. Im no rookie. NKU got a steal.

Outstanding post. Thrilled for him and his family and friends that he is going to play somewhere close to home, that he can not only play to the strengths he already has, but to develop his game further, and play where he can succeed and become a cornerstone for what Brannen is going to build there.

Agree with this, too..I predict we will be watching him and NKU in the big dance at some point in his four years there.

Boy would that be sweet!

lol. Now about Cronin and Bostic. Area you aware of that situation?

Please tell me about the Cronin and Bostic situation?

As I just told MTGL we have not seen a kid with the combination of physical strength and explosiveness that we see with Carson for a long, long time in NKY. Big , thick kids like him usually do not elevate as high or as quickly as he does.

His game needs work for the next level - like ever other kid entering college. His FT stroke needs tightened up. He needs to at least show an occasional mid-range jumper. I think a college weight program will make him a bit leaner which allow for some improvement in lateral quickness.

As a Norse alum I'm excited to have him. Love his demeanor. Intense but controlled. Kudos to him for the career and to his family. Easy kid to root for.

This is from @CharlesNKY on Twitter. Another good shot from last night. He has been shooting video for Owen Co over the season. Does a real good job. You can check out his work on YouTube under the same name.

Not a plug, just passing it along.

I saw him last night. I've really enjoyed his videos. Let us know when he puts video up of this game.

He's a good guy and does great work.

I am going to disagree on the 6th or the 9th, @OldhamOldie. I would instead insert the 3rd or the 10th. Or, 15th or 16th.

But, they are in the 8th, or at least until the Mason and Bracken Co fans can figure out their realignment plans in the other threads :sssh:

The 8th is a tough region....In the Louisville metro area, you have established programs with South and Oldham Co, while North is building to make it a three team race in the 29th. Collins and Shelby are certainly going to be both back being strong sooner rather than later. Spencer is another Louisville metro area school that is growing by leaps and bounds. Grant is an enigma, but certainly a potential player and still waiting on the Simon Kenton breakthrough in the 8th.

Wow...you listed 8 schools here and not once did you mention what will probably be the odds on pre-season favorite next year in the 8th region...Anderson County. I'm just going to chalk it up as an over site...this time.:lol2:

Where is the embarassed emoji? Anderson Co is definitely a staple in the 8th region.

And, let me add another program that is going to be heard from in the next few years...Walton-Verona...very talented group in the pipeline.
