True blue (and gold) Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Antonin Scalia, Supreme Court justice, dies at 79 - CNNPolitics.com
CBDV Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 RIP. Sadly, this will now be the turning point in the conservative vs. liberal movement.......kiss your gun rights goodbye.
Jumper_Dad Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Really hated to get this update on my phone. RIP Justice Scalia
plantmanky Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Very sad to hear. Will be interesting to see if the Senate will stall any confirmation till after the election or not.
Twotoplace Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 McConnell has already said that he's going to play stall ball. What a surprise.
All Tell Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 McConnell has already said that he's going to play stall ball. What a surprise. He watched Harry Reid do it while he was leader. Surely you don't have any issue with McConnell using the same tactics as Reid do you?
Hellcats Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I'm certain Mitch just wants Hillary or Bernie or Trump or Cruz to pick the next justice.
Twotoplace Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 He watched Harry Reid do it while he was leader. Surely you don't have any issue with McConnell using the same tactics as Reid do you? I think it's ironic and comical that McConnell is planning a constitutional end run not to replace the most ardent constitutionalist on the high court.
All Tell Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I think it's ironic and comical that McConnell is planning a constitutional end run not to replace the most ardent constitutionalist on the high court. I think it's funny that when McConnell uses the same tactics Reid did that libs get their knickers in a knot.
mcpapa Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 The longest it has ever taken to confirm a Supreme Court nominee is 125 days. Obama has 361 days left in office.
capt278 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I think it's funny that when McConnell uses the same tactics Reid did that libs get their knickers in a knot. Well look who's complaining. Shouldn't surprise you.
Dlbdonn Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 McConnell ought to retire from the Senate like Reid is and join him in doing the country and this Commonwealth a huge favor .
CBDV Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 The longest it has ever taken to confirm a Supreme Court nominee is 125 days. Obama has 361 days left in office. no. 27 months.
OlDog75 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Maybe there will be some "executive order" and Scalia's spot will be filled in a week. Nothing would surprise me with present administration.
