February 3, 201610 yr Is this a serious thread or did you just have a nightmare and woke up at 2:30 to post this? What makes you want to dub this team the best ever? A good team yes but best ever I hardly think so. They had numerous games this year where they had to hold on to win at the end. Can you say this team is better than the Pats the year they lost their only game in the Bowl to the Giants after a freak helmet catch.
February 3, 201610 yr Not the best ever but record alone should put them in the conversation for top 5, shouldn't it? 18-1 Super Bowl champs is awfully impressive no matter how they got there.
February 3, 201610 yr Not the best ever but record alone should put them in the conversation for top 5, shouldn't it? 18-1 Super Bowl champs is awfully impressive no matter how they got there. They've got a fierce defense and a game-changer behind center. And if they win it all? I wouldn't write them out of the conversation.

I don't think is as outlandish as some make it out to be. Keep in mind that it has been 30 years since an NFL team won the Superbowl with less than two losses. The answer is no, but they are in the mix (if they win Sunday).
February 3, 201610 yr I was certain they'd win it all after the nfc championship game. As the weeks roll on, I'm not as sure. Denvers D is no joke

February 3, 201610 yr Better than14-0 when the league was less diluted? I said not the best ever, only that they should be in the top 5 conversation if they win the SB.
February 5, 201610 yr Teams that score 40+ in the playoffs in the NFL are dreadful the following game, just food for thought. I think we throw around "best ever" and "greatest ever" way too often, but it would be hard not to put this Panther team on a very short list of the best single-season teams the NFL has seen. How could you not? Solid defense, #1 scoring offense, MVP behind center, only 1 loss in regular season and post-season? They'd be on the very short list of best seasons ever, for sure.
February 5, 201610 yr Better than14-0 when the league was less diluted? TAC, come on, the league is 100x better today than it was in the 70's. Bigger, stronger, faster, more complex, more skilled....not even debatable.
February 5, 201610 yr TAC, come on, the league is 100x better today than it was in the 70's. Bigger, stronger, faster, more complex, more skilled....not even debatable. True. That's why the discussion has to be in their era. How much better would a Warfield or Branch or Alworth would have been in numbers with post 70's rules to okay with?
