frankdracman23 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 The Toothpaste thread made me think.......which of these are you most loyal to a Name Brand and you would never consider a Store Brand or Off Brand? 1 means you are most loyal as in "I'm never giving up my Name Brand _____" *Peanut Butter *Toilet Paper *Soap/BodyWash *Bread *Cereal *Laundry Detergent *Beer/Wine/Spirits *Potato/Tortilla Chips *Cookies *Deodorant

All the rest are negotiable.
mcpapa Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Tide liquid laundry detergent. On sale or not. Says the missus. That's about as far as our brand loyalty goes on these products. Bread has to be fresh, but brand doesn't matter. Just about everything else - what's on sale.
Wireman Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I'm loyal to Old Spice Pure Sport deodorant and Corona Light beer. Nothing else matters.
75center Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Beer-Bud Light. Anything else on the list I buy on price.
UKMustangFan Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Old Spice. Everything else is Kroger brand or whatever is cheapest. Beer is a bit trickier as I buy pretty much all craft beers, but I am extremely loyal to the local breweries, so I don't know if that counts?
Jackie Ed Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Only beer loyalty for me. I'm a miller guy, but am very flexible. I try anything once. But it's Lite or High Life for me.
hoops5 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Peanut Butter Then maybe tortilla chips. If they don't have the right texture and crunch, why bother. All the rest----whatever is on sale.
B-Ball-fan Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 1. Peanut Butter - Kroger Natural, or whatever Natural type that happens to show up on the half off sale shelf. 2. T- Paper - Whatever is on sale in the 1000-1250 sheets range. Various brands from Scott, Kroger, Family Dollar, off brand at Big Lots etc...Long lasting roll and economical, and even though you have to use numerous squares per visit because it's so thin, it still lasts longer, and is more economical than thicker varieties. 3. Soap/Body Wash - Yardley of London Oatmeal/Almond Bar (at times various other Yardley scents), St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter body wash, Spa-Haus - Oatmeal body wash. Dollar tree tar shampoo or Essential Oil Rosemary Mint shampoo. 4. Bread - Kroger half priced "ooops we baked too much" day old bakery of various types, and then I freeze the sliced loaf. Once in a while I'll pick up a few bakery fresh bagels, or maybe the Kroger brand bag of 6 whole wheat bagels. Kroger English Muffins when on sale. If I need hamburger or hot dog buns I typically just get whatever is the least expensive. I used to get Kroger Private Selection bagged loaves because of all the fairly decent bagged shelved breads this is the cheapest, but after 50 years of pre packaged bagged breads, I've become completely burnt out on them that my first choice is bakery breads marked half off. 5. Cereal - Whatever might be on the half priced shelf for under $2 that is at least fairly healthy with a decent amount of protein and fiber in it. Can't stand Kashi cereals though, so I'll pass on them because I fear breaking a tooth because it's like eating rocks. 6. Laundry Detergent - All Clear - (On sale only) 7. Beer/Wine/Spirits - Almost never drink 8. Potato Chips/Tortilla Chips - Typically seek out a cheaper Kroger brand on sale or make an exception if Husman, Lays, Grippo BBQ, or Pringles are on sale. Leary of dollar store type off brands. Have to limit myself because I tend to snack attack over indulge if I buy a bag. 9. Cookies - Never buy cookies (for the same over indulgence reason) except for a random one here and there perhaps at McDonalds, Burger King, Lee's or wherever or whenever the fancy strikes. 10. Deodorant - Crystal Deodorant Stone - Chemical free and last forever - extremely economical. Nothing compares... Not even close. For a bit of extra protection in warmer months, I'll use a very small squirt of the $1 a can Power Stick Coolblast spray found at most dollar stores.
JDEaston Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Deodorant and bread are the only two on that list I am loyal to. I use degree dry for deodorant. Bread is Heiner's only, there is a Heiner's bakery in the West end of Huntington, so Heiner's is our freshest option for bread.
Bluto Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Toilet paper: has to be SOFT (Charmin, Northern, etc). I am NOT scrimping on this! Sauces: Prego spaghetti sauce; Pace picante sauce; La Choy sweet & sour sauce.
Jim Schue Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Toilet paper must be Cottonnelle. Other than that I'm flexible. I do restrict myself on laundry detergent to those without the added dyes and scents, which means I mostly get All because it's reasonably priced.
Bluegrasscard Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Mitchum Powergel deodorant is must. Wife will not do anything but Tide detergent. Jif PB.
LIPTON BASH Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Only two I'm 100% loyal on is bread or deodarent. Brownberry Health Nut bread Old spice
mcpapa Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Mitchum Powergel deodorant is must. Wife will not do anything but Tide detergent. Jif PB. If mama ain't happy, nobody is happy. Tide it is.
