18yr old gang raped in NY playground

Featured Replies

I'm going to find out if he has the balls to use the gun. Sorry but I'm not leaving my daughter in that situation. Dude was gone long enough for all 5 of them to rape her.

Having a gun on you doesn't mean you will get to it in time to respond to the gunman. Unless you are Wyatt Earp and it is literally strapped on your hip.

Even without the gun I would be doing everything to create distance between my daughter and them and finding an opportunity to get her out of there or die trying.

So D, you and your daughter are walking through the park and a guy comes up with a gun and tells you to beat it, he's keeping your daughter.

You have a gun on you...you just walk away? Because you don't want to make it any worse?

Nope. I'm going to pull my gun.

My point is that the first two posts insinuated that by having a gun the father could have done something about it. I just don't think that is the case. Sure the possibility is there, but it's not certain.

Overall, the constant whining about guns or no guns is old. Every situation doesn't call for needing a gun, and every situation isn't fixed by someone having a gun. It gets old.

Fair enough. In all likelihood, adding another gun doesn't improve the situation.

Correct...just makes an attempt at leveling the playing field with those who have no regard for any of our laws...gun laws don't fix this issue, but dead bodies get more than 15 seconds of press on the national news

The 2nd post ment the following...

1. Criminals will have a gun and do you harm even in a playground.

2. Criminals like this trash will get little to no punishment and will be back on the streets to harm other innocent people.

I do support second amendment rights and feel that all other honest hard working Americans should also.

Scum like these punks willing to do what they did will be lifers in our criminal justice system. Over the course of their remaining lives how many more innocent people will fall victim to their violent ways?

Im willing to bet more than the 1 family they just affected.

I know I don't have an easy answer on how to stop violent crime in America. My best guess is, humans nolonger value the life of other humans. Unfortunately it's where we have evolved to

Then you all can't infer the outcome would have been any different if he DID have a gun.

At least he would have had a chance which is huge.

How could you possibly say you like your chances when you know NOTHING about the other person with a gun? We can both play that game.

Mine's concealed their's is already exposed, I have the element of surprise. A HUGE tactical advantage.

If his gun is already out and his focus is on you, the chances of you pulling your gun and shooting him first are slim to none.

That is, if he REALLY intends on shooting you.

Okay, that may be true. So you have multiple dead people (possible) instead of someone being raped. Again, it doesn't make the situation any better.

There are several possible outcomes where the girl doesn't get raped and the violence is perpetrated on the criminals and not the innocent girl. I say if 50% of the damage is on the criminals instead of 100% of the damage on the victims like we have now then the situation is in fact better.

Agreed. That would make the situation "better."

You don't draw when the gunman is looking at you, you do so when he looks away, is distracted. By the time he looks back and his brain has to do a full OODA Loop (approximately a half second), a proficient shooter could draw from concealment. Police are trained how to make sure they don't fall for the same tactic.

So if he never looks away, your gun is again, useless.

I would never sit in a dark playground in an area that's known to be dangerous with my teenage daughter. Avoiding dangerous situations is a very important aspect of survival.

Oh the joy of the People's Republic of NY. Socialist and their pro victim zones.
