18yr old gang raped in NY playground

Featured Replies

Fair enough.

You having a gun still doesn't prevent it from happening.

I disagree...had there been a gun fight, even if Dad was shot and killed, chances are the rapist would have fled the scene without the rape occurring. JMO of course.

Okay, that may be true. So you have multiple dead people (possible) instead of someone being raped. Again, it doesn't make the situation any better.

How could you possibly say you like your chances when you know NOTHING about the other person with a gun? We can both play that game.

I also said "Not that I know I would get it stopped but at least I could put up a fight to try to save my daughter" based on that I don't know the other person. And I don't know how a man with a child wouldn't.

Maybe so...but as a father at what point would you take a bullet to insure your daughter didn't endure this horrific crime.

I wouldn't hesitate to risk my life for my daughter, at that point who was to say they weren't going to kill her.

"Yes they deserve to die and I hope they burn in hell"

I get the whole "Dad protecting daughter" angle. Obviously any man in his right mind would do whatever it took to protect his child.

Doesn't change the fact that the first two posts in this thread implied that if the dad were able to carry a weapon this is a different situation. You just can't make that assumption. It's typical from the extreme pro-gun crowd, and remarkably annoying.

Perhaps.

I don't disagree with this at all.

Doesn't mean the dad having a gun changes anything. Certainly wouldn't "improve" the situation. That's my point.

I don't want to get into a gun debate at all. But in these areas where there are bans to carry, there are always those who are carrying. Those who do it illegally.

I hate it for the girl, forever affected. Brutalized for what?

I will drop the gun debate, I came in late on it anyway.

What an awful thing to happen to a young lady that will unfortunately change her forever!

Your right, no one can tell what would have happened. But at least the dad would have had a chance to do something. But we will never know.

America in 2016. A girl is gang raped at a playground in public and the discussion is about guns.

What is there really to discuss? I guess we could all simply say what a tragedy, because it is.

Not sure but when I opened the thread I wasn't expecting more whining about guns.
