September 30, 20169 yr I'm in NKY for a conference and realized I left my books at home. The Hunger Games was on the shelf and so I started it last night. Hadn't read it before. Got through about 150 pages last night; really quick read. I get why it became such a huge hit. Draws you within 10 pages, keeps you there.
October 1, 20169 yr The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. A young couple runs a lighthouse on a desolate island off the Australian coast, after WWI. Lots of baby stealing drama. I’ll definitely watch the movie at some point.
October 6, 20169 yr I really enjoyed this one. If you're interested in Motown and the Civil Rights Movement, you'll like this. Kurlansky is always good and this is an easy, enjoyable read.
October 11, 20169 yr Just started Revolutionaries by Jack Rakove. My sense is it's a meatier Founding Brothers. Also started You Can't Touch My Hair by Phoebe Robinson, which is a humorous take on race and culture in 2016.
October 13, 20169 yr Just read Where Are the Customers' Yachts? Or a good hard look at Wall Street. It was published in 1940 and reads as a series of humorous truisms about making money in stocks. I laughed out loud a few times and it was thought provoking. Curious if any investors like @Clyde have read it.
