silo11 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Dunbar had a decent lead, Trinity came back took the lead, then Dunbar got it back late in the 4th and kept it from there.
mooremiller31 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hollingsworth 28 Williams 20 Kelley 9 Brown 7 Lewis 5 Clark 2 King 21 Burkman 14 Schmitt 10 Burton 8 Harris 4 Terry 3 Great game to watch. Trinity has to be the best 3 point shooting team I've seen this season. Finished the night 13/23 for the game and a couple of those misses were last minute prayers. Two good teams that both deserve to recognized as some of the states best.
TexasRanger Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Huge win for coach Chalk and the Dunbar program. It's still early but their the best of the 11th.
THS2011 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Stats that jumped out at me: REBOUNDING Trinity got smoked 17 to 37 I think. Trinity's 2 point FGs 7/28 and free throws attempted Dunbar 30 Trinity 8.
Slim859 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Has anyone realized that Dunbar has only played one game on their home floor?
Indiana Patrick Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I almost expect these 2 teams to meet a third time @ Rupp for a state title. Havent seen teams like Mercer Co. or Christian Co. but these 2 are probably top 2 teams in the state. But they dont play games on potential. Should be a great tournament

Trinity's 2 point FGs 7/28 and free throws attempted Dunbar 30 Trinity 8. Dunbar attacked the basket much more then Trinity did. Trinity spent a lot of time on the perimeter shooting jump shots. I think that's why you see the difference in free throws attempted.

Dunbar had 33 2 point FGs attempted, 2 AND 1s. So 31 shots with no fouls. Take the 24 (26-2 for the AND 1s) add to the FG total (31) = 55. 24/55 = 44% of Dunbars' shots resulted in free throws. I'm not saying this decided the game, just pointing it out. I think Trinity lost because of the 7/28 2 point shots, a lot of missed layups. Oh well, it's going to be a fun season. Looking forward to the LIT!
mcpapa Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Driving almost always means a foul these days. Not saying I agree with it, but it is my belief that the driver gets a lot of leeway, even when initiating contact. Is it just me?
Basketballfan2 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I saw Dunbar twice in the KOB & they weren't impressive at all. It didn't look like they got along with each other and offense was 1-2 players. Were they missing some players?
PurplePride92 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Has anyone realized that Dunbar has only played one game on their home floor? Wow. I hadn't realized that.
tcjkbt Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Trinity is not big. That has concerned me. Looks like that problem came home to roost against Dunbar. Each team has now won by 11 points in their home city (but not home court).
HoopJunkie Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 2 top notch teams fighting it out. I get the feel that if they played 10 times, the series would be 5-5.
