December 16, 201510 yr This would have excited me a lot more 4-5 years ago. Same here. My mindset now is who cares? Especially since Fat Tire beat them to the punch.
December 16, 201510 yr Same here. My mindset now is who cares? Especially since Fat Tire beat them to the punch. Fat tire is way better. :thumb:
December 16, 201510 yr Had a friend who often passed through Pottsville, and would run a few cases my way. When you get a fresh batch straight from the brewery, it is delicious! The green bottle is probably why it doesn't taste as well any other time.
December 16, 201510 yr The green bottle is probably why it doesn't taste as well any other time. Bingo. When I do buy it, I always go for cans - less skunk in potential.
December 16, 201510 yr Author Darn. I was hoping Kentucky would get it. I really like their Oktoberfest beer.

December 17, 201510 yr Darn. I was hoping Kentucky would get it. I really like their Oktoberfest beer. Their Oktoberfest is good. As is their Black and Tan. Good call.
December 17, 201510 yr Their Oktoberfest is good. As is their Black and Tan. Good call. The black and tan is my favorite thing that Yuengling makes.
December 17, 201510 yr Fat Tire forever... I LOVE Fat Tire. Sometimes I'm more in the mood for a lager, Yuengling is one of my favoroite lagers. Wish it was coming to KY, oh well, back across the pond for me.
December 17, 201510 yr The black and tan is my favorite thing that Yuengling makes. I had forgotten about that stuff. Definitely the highlight of any potential move into Kentucky.
December 17, 201510 yr The black and tan is my favorite thing that Yuengling makes. I was at Jungle Jims last summer, and they were selling individual 16oz cans of Yuengling B&T for $1. I bought a bunch. I used to drink that all the time when I lived in Pennsylvania and hadn't had it in 15 years. It was as good as I remembered.
December 17, 201510 yr From a curiosity standpoint, has Yuengling changed their recipe? I am long removed from the days when I would drink a lot of beer. And even then, I was young and broke and drank the cheapest stuff around, lol. Suffice to say I am not a beer expert at all. When I see comments like "I wouldn't consider them a solid beer anymore" it makes me wonder what has changed? Seems like conversation on here a couple of years ago was much more pro-Yuengling.
December 17, 201510 yr When I see comments like "I wouldn't consider them a solid beer anymore" it makes me wonder what has changed? Seems like conversation on here a couple of years ago was much more pro-Yuengling. I'd say, "It's not them, it's me". When I only drank Bud Light & Miller Lite and couldn't get Yuengling easily in NKY, then I thought Yuengling was a solid beer. Now that I've been introduced to craft beer and have really falling in love with Rhinegeist and Madtree, my definition of a solid beer has changed big time.
December 17, 201510 yr OK, gotcha. The emergence and availability of good craft beers probably has had that affect on many domestic offerings, right?
