August 14, 200620 yr I know sometimes we get on here, and post out of frustration, but just how fun and sweet is it to have only 44 games left in the season, and to have every game mean so very, very much. It's been since 1999 since we as fans have had the opportunity to experience a pennant race, and I'm enjoying every minute of it, even if it is taken years off my life. :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa Yes! My son (16) started watching the Reds about 3 years ago. Its great to enjoy this with him.:thumb:

August 14, 200620 yr Me. Don't you know there's an off-season deal in the works to get Papelbon? I now your kidding but, the Red Sox have a quandry. I believe Papelbon was brought up as a starter and many think he could be a dynamite one, but he is filling this role quite nicely.
August 14, 200620 yr Cincinnati Reds: Elizardo Ramirez lost his No. 5 starter's spot as he was demoted to Triple-A on Sunday. Ryan Franklin has been mention as a possible replacement, as was journeyman Chris Michalak. Either one of those stopgaps is a high-risk option for the deepest of NL-only leagues. The Reds have not ruled out an option from the minors, which is music to the ears of Homer Bailey fans. Consider the phenom a flier this week for his potential surprise early call-up. Bailey, 20 is 5-0 with a 1.03 ERA in Double-A. He struck out 11, walked three and allowed four hits Sunday. The No. 5 spot will come up Friday or Saturday, while Eric Milton will pitch the other day, depending on the new No. 5's day. Bailey would be able to go either of those days. Giddy up! http://10603184721.baseball.sportsline.com/news/9600069
August 14, 200620 yr Carpenter vs Harang to kick off a HUGE series for both teams on deck. With the way the Reds and Cards are playing there will be quite a few pages added to this one...
August 14, 200620 yr Mercker's career is over. The visit to Dr K revealed the worst. I wish him luck in whatever he does next...
August 14, 200620 yr Mercker's career is over. The visit to Dr K revealed the worst. I wish him luck in whatever he does next... That sucks. He's had a solid career, however.
August 14, 200620 yr That sucks. He's had a solid career, however. No doubt. I'd love to see him as the Reds pen coach down the road...
August 14, 200620 yr Might he join Marty on the road with KISS? In all honesty, he was one of the quality lefties for many years. FWIW, I still would cringe less with a spent Mercker than when Stormie makes his stroll to the mound.
August 14, 200620 yr Mercker's career is over. The visit to Dr K revealed the worst. I wish him luck in whatever he does next... Man that stinks. After Doc Hollywood gets done with him he may have trouble lifting a cup of coffee. Best of luck to him...
August 14, 200620 yr Edwin Encarnacion has been named National League player of the week for Aug. 7-13. Encarnacion hit .440 (11-25) with a double, four home runs and eight RBIs last week. His 24 total bases and .960 slugging percentage last week led the NL. He currently has a career-high 10-game hitting streak. Encarnacion is the second Reds player to take P.O.W. honors this year. Brandon Phillips did it April 17-23. :dancingpa
