While there are great moments on Alive II, it completely pales in comparison to the greatness of Alive. "Shock Me," admittedly, is a high point. And I go out of my way to spin Ace's solo record for just one song as much as possible. "Back In The NY Groove" is just so darned good.

December 7, 201510 yr I have lots that I love. Otis Redding at the Whiskey. Kiss Alive. Under A Blood Red Sky. Cheap Trick's At Budokan. The Band's Last Waltz. The Concert For Bangladesh. Cash's prison stuff. The Who's Live At Leeds. One More From The Road. MMJ's Okonokos. Wilco's Kicking Television. The Concert In Central Park. Live At The Apollo with James. Maiden's Live After Death. Thin Lizzy's Live And Dangerous. Neil's Live Rust. Unplugged in NY. But I always keep coming back to the first live rock'n'roll album ever introduced to me by my uncle (1977 HS grad). Bob Seger became something cheesy in the '80s and beyond, but '70s Bob was incredible, and his band was, too. Give "Live Bullet" a spin and I dare you to not dance to "Nutbush City Limits" (one of few covers in history better than the original — Ike and Tina Turner) and "Ramblin', Gamblin' Man." Those two are the standouts, but there are many others. "Kathmandu," for example. "Turn The Page," as well (and not that atrocious Mascaraca cover). "Travelin' Man." Really, I can't name all the songs, but it's all outstanding stuff. Some of the best tunes are the ones that weren't "hits." What's your fave and why? Great stuff!!

December 7, 201510 yr For as legendary as Springsteen is live it's never been captured on a record. His live box set of stuff from 75-85 is great and they nailed the sound quality, but because it's a collection of songs from disparate concerts it loses his essence. Bootlegs abound, however, but the sound quality can be spotty.

December 7, 201510 yr I always liked "Live Killers" by Queen. Caught a lot of the raw feeling of their music. Chicago Live at Carnegie Hall - the CD adaptation. When released on CD, they added a 4th disc that had better versions of their original ones on the Live album. Really showed off Terry Kath well in the extra CD. Back when Chicago was still Chicago. Liked the CSNY 1974 release a year or two ago. Thought it was better produced and sounded better than the 1971 4 Way Street live album. And I can't believe that Jim Schue did not mention: Eagles Live 1980 Hell Freezes Over 1994 Eagles Millenium Concert from 2000 (From the Boxed Set) Really disappointed in Jim. :lol2:
