I told my wife while away that if the terrorists really want to be successful, hitting smaller towns and killing 10-20 people at a time but way more often would be more effective than going for the big kills (like the WTC or Paris). How can you stop this? Smaller towns and smaller police depts and only needing one or two people to plan equals almost impossible to stop. This is so scary to me. I see no way to stop it.

I dont hate anyone, including terrorists that will try to kill me. But whats wrong with me asking you if you have read what the book Islam is founded on says? When these terrorists started and it was shown that Islam was behind it, I decided to start trying to find out why this was. So I went to the Quran( use Google its easy) and started reading what it said that might trigger some extremest Muslim. After reading and searching closer,these guys are following it to a T so to speak. I would encourage you to read it and see for yourself. Do not take my word for it. You and you alone are responsible for what you do and what you believe as I am. If you would like I will give you links etc to study it. Fair enough? Then you tell me what you think?

Serious question. Let's say he hates Muslims. I don't know what's in his heart . He could.

 

But your comment of " there are more than you think" meaning on this board there are a lot of people who hate all Muslims would be equally ridiculous.

 

This topic alone is making me lose all hope on bipartisan agreement on anything.

Those say labeling a group as radical Islam is some how xenophobic or racist , those people are part of the problem. Rule number one of solving a problem is identifying the problem.

 

We need to quit worry about hurting feelings. Are people not adults anymore. I'm so sick of hearing about hurt feelings , people need to grow up.

 

You can label a group radical Islam without labeling every muslI'm radical. If you want to label some Christians radical go ahead. I know no other person defines me but myself. If people aren't adult enough to understand that concept then that person needs to look in the mirror.

I don't know that I'd call San Bernadino small...

Without police, a lot more people might have died here, in Boston...etc. they can't predict the future, but they did an outstanding job hunting down and stopping these terrorists.

 

With that said, I think everyone should be prepared to defend themselves.

 

They did save countless lives. But they are a reactionary force. They don't have ESP or premonition where they can stop this type of crime from happening, so you should count on yourself more than count on somebody coming to save you. By the time they get there there are already victims. Not saying everybody should be strapped and running around like the wild wild west but if enough people are carrying they can help stop or even deter crimes like this from happening.

Well, the answer surely isn't less guns in law abiding citizens hands.

I completely agree that the police did an excellent job with this incident. One of the best I've seen to date to be honest.

I went shopping with the wife today. Had mine on my side. Didn't have a care in the world other than a smokin' hot credit card. Personally, I don't plan on living this life in my fears. And I can't control what some might do in the name of whatever/whomever, but I sure can defend my family in the process. Might make me pay the ultimate price, and I'm cool with that. Wish all cities allowed that privilege. I wouldn't live anywhere that didn't frankly.

I admit, I haven't read the Quaran. But in your post, you've taken passages, and removed them from context. People bring up similar passages in the Bible, and when these same types of passages are brought up, the argument people use to defend them, is that you can't take individual passages on their own. They must be presented in context in order to fully understand the meaning. Or that these passages weren't meant to be interpreted literally. There are many passages in the Old Testament that call for violence, genocide and other similar things. The Bible isn't all peace and love. Remember, the Christian extremists, like the KKK, Aryan Brotherhood, etc, use the literal translations of the Bible to defend their actions.

 

I get your point. But if you're going to judge the Quaran so harshly based on literal translations presented out of context, it's not fair to ignore the same type of stuff that is present in the Bible.
