How about the lady in Florida (I know Floridians are crazy and should never be used as an example to justify an argument) who fired a warning shot at her abusive husband, injuring no one? Does she deserve to go to jail for the rest of her life? That's the problem with blanket claims and generalizations. The reality of it is, that each situation has a unique context, and therefore should be examined as a singular event.

I believe discharging a firearm in city limits is illegal, even in Florida, so that would be characterized as a crime. I get what your saying, but I just don't like the "one policy fits all" solution.

He also suggested to one neighbor that he should get a metal roof to keep the government from spying on him. Also, one police source said that while he did mention baby parts in an interview, it was one of many things he mentioned and the interview left them unclear as to a motive. His wife also said that he was opposed to abbortion but the topic didn't really come up much when they were together. This isn't a normal church going Christian. He is crazy.

If you find opposing viewpoints upsetting, then you might want to hang out at the "How many BGPers have you met?" room. The Colorado Springs attack is the latest act of violence -- among hundreds since Roe v. Wade -- against those that provide legal abortion services. I suspect that Dear wanted to turn the clinic building into a blazing inferno, which explains all those propane tanks that law officers found.
