Two storied programs square off in Newport on Friday, Nov. 27th for the right to play for the Class 2A State Championship, as the Danville Admirals square off with the Thoroughbreds of Newport Catholic. Danville comes into the game winner of 10 straight, while the Breds are victors of the last 6 of 7 contest.

NewCath comes into this game having won 13 consecutive state semifinals contests, including 10 since 2000. The Breds only state semi-final setback was an 8-7 loss in 1983 to Somerset on a missed 18 yd FG in the final seconds of the game. :madman:

Much to my dismay, nobody is stopping the Thoroughbreds until they get to Mayfield where the road ends.

Newport Central Catholic wins this game. They played a brutal schedule this year. Has NCC played a team with speed like Danville? I still think NCC is to big for Danville, and will be to physical for the Admirals. 28/14 NCC wins. I would love to see Jacob Smith from NCC and Vancleave from Danville in a foot race lol

I'm picking Danville to win because I want to see them win state and I think they are good enough to win state.

Should be a better game than I expected before. I am pulling for the Breds, but I think Danville wins. Good luck to both teams.

It takes more energy to hate than to love.

With Danville improving every every week they are peaking at the right time. Just a quick look at NCC's schedule they have played quite a few good teams. I only wonder if they hav played any with the overall speed of Danville. Danville has 6 guys on every play that can take it to th house and Ray is playing off the charts right new.

Though Danville is gonna be outsized,as they were many times this year, I really like their chances. With their offense clicking on all cylinders and the defense still holding strong I think they win 28-24

Gotta go with our brothers in faith. Their schedule prepares them well for 2a teams. I believe they are more battle tested than Danville. I do think it will be close. But i think NCC goes to Bowling Green.

Well the Ads have dropped anchor off the Newport Coast and will begin the shelling Friday night. I am a Ads fan and hope they get it done

Well, I voted Newport Catholic in the pool and then saw this post. Now I'm sure Danville will win given your previous predictions.

Looks like NCC likes to run the ball on offense and passing is their weakness on defense both of these stats favor Danville I'll take Danville 28 to 14.

Might want to ask Lloyd about the "passing is their weakness on defense".

No way that Newport Cath contains those legs in Danville. They are small but man they are Fast....
