I'm going with Danville in a great game. I'm planning to make the trip if possible.

 

This is the best Danville team since I've lived in Danville and I'm hoping for a state final run.

Might want to ask Lloyd about the "passing is their weakness on defense".

 

Lloyd is not in the same uiverse as Danville, I'm going by their season stats on KHSAA and they tell me that NCC weakness on defense is against the pass numbers don't lie.

NCC defense is on a groove. NCC 31-13

I think both the teams in the west have better defenses than Danville.

The thing I will be interested to see is if NCC big lineman can block the quick and strong Danville defense. I think that this may be the biggest factor. Pretty much all year the Ads have been hard to block and fly to the ball because of their quickness and speed. They play fundamental defense and since the Boyle game haven't given up big plays. They are as good at pass defense now as they have been all year making in really hard to move the ball. Looking forward to a great game.

Nope, a Desales supporter says Desales and CAL have the best 2 defenses in 2A. Heck, now your post has me confused. Anyway, I'm pulling for the Ad's and hoping for a Mayfield vs Danville championship. Great history there even tho the Ad's have had the upper hand.

Looking at the scores Danville appears to be the most dominant team in 2A...but when you look deeper those scores are misleading in that there is only one good team (Boyle) on the schedule.

 

Danville may very well be as dominant as they look on the scoreboards, but NCC will IMO be at least the 2nd best team they will have played this season.

 

NCC has taken some lumps but have played at least 4 pretty good teams this season that I think were better than Danville is.

 

I think this will be a great game, along the lines of 24-21...with NCC eeking out a win at home.

NCC always peaks at the right time every year. I saw two of their games this year against the same opponent. Vastly improved. I didn't go last night, but it sounds like they may still be on their way up.

Speed is always relative to your opponent. I'm not saying Danville isn't fast, and they may run circles around the Breds, but who have they played that would be a good judge of team speed?

I think Corbin and Somerset wins were the best Danville wins this year. And in those 2 games they only gave up 7 points. So I can't see the NCC game being a high scoring game. Obviously, NCC scoring chances highly depend on if Smith is 100%, but I'm not sure the winner gets to 30 on the scoreboard.

Did Smith get injured again?

Of watching a lot of teams this year from over most of central Kentucky Danville has the most team speed I have seen. There may be one or two fast players on their teams but 1-11 especially on defense they use their speed and quickness to disrupt then gang tackle. On offense at all times they have 6 guys, I include Dampier though he doesn't run much, that can take it the distance every play. This means one missed assignment or missed tackle and its 6. Also they haven't featured one player although Ray is becoming the workhorse of late, which I think them more dangerous. I think many look at their schedule and call it weak which I see the point but I still think that The Boyle score is misleading. That game even in Boyle fans eyes hinged on three big plays that went in boyles way. Saying that Boyle is still probably better than any of the 2a teams remaining. Also Corbin is still alive and Danville handled them as well.

I think that Danville may be in question if they get in a tight game that takes mental toughness, but I also like the way in all these blowout games the clock was running early in the second quarter because they came out focused. I can't wait till Friday gonna be s good one!
