Twas the day after Thanksgiving, when all thru the city,

the Cards were dressing, so to win without pity.

The Colts were in time for the first time ever,

They knew they could only win if the clock struck never.

The fans were dressed in all red and black,

The team was hungry for an equine snack.

Out on the field the anthem was played,

Hands covering hearts, and all lips stayed.

The music ended and out came a roar,

Soon the Colts' season would be no more.

The young men in red took to the field,

and in the cold it was again revealed,

that the Cards' fight and skill had no match.

The Colts sent off in quick dispatch.

Both teams fought hard and at the end of the game,

The Cards had 20 but the Colts' score stayed the same.

Before the game the Colts had said a lotta of sumpin'

But they still got beat 20 to nuttin'

Pretty good. Only it won't be 20 to nothing. More like 17-14 lol

Heavyweight battle

I'll say Mayfield because of their big play potential

Just a question that came to mind from reading this thread. If this year was west traveling east, where would have the game been played this week? Do the colts have an agreement with a school to use their field?

Again, the Mayfield cockiness. :lol2: :lol2:

I hope for the sake of some of you Mayfield does win.

To be fair, you have to be used to that with all the Trinity fans you know.

Mayfield does not even compare to the athletes at Fern Creek and Ballard.

I wouldn't go that far.

they normally play at like fairdale or southern or a place like that if I'm not mistaken

How come Desales don't have a field?

Not bad for a little ole town far, far away from the big city bright lights

That's what makes them dangerous.

Mayfield and Caldwell run the same offense. Did Desales every play Caldwell in 2A?

Based on the growth and craziness of the thread I'm pretty sure the tailgating/pregaming at Memorial has already started. my goodness, wish the matchup wasn't so far away. should be a good one. Good luck to all and I hope for no available excuses for either side (good weather, no injuries, etc.). May the best team win!

Better move quick Colt City. There is a bus, and from what I understand it is filling up fast. There may be a second one, depending on demand. However, a lot of people are driving down early and spending the night after the game. The team is staying also.

the team is staying the night before? or after?

Most likely at Fairdale...we played all our 'home' games there this year. And our former AD is now AD there...

Night after....wouldn't want Toothpick, Cardinal44, Mayfieldfan and etc. driving around our hotel rooms blaring music, firing off guns and making all kinds of racket trying to keep our players awake......If ya'll didn't get it...that was a 'tongue and cheek' comment. Design lighten the air on this blog LOL...... Cardinal44 you been too kind and Mayfield you are a poet and just don't know it....alas I'll stop now

Haha, well, it is deer season.

Colt fans, you will have to enter the stadium at the Northeast end zone entrance if you wish to sit on the DeSales side. It seats approximately 300. Otherwise you will have to enter at the top of War Memorial Stadium and can sit at the far West end of the stadium. There will be plenty of seating as War Memorial has a home side capacity of near 6,000. The weather looks wet and cold and should hold back a lot of the fair weather fans.
